Hi @BenAllenCA. Deep cuts to education will stand in the way of readying our schools for the safe return of students. Please support a #CABudget with no cuts and no educator layoffs. You will also support equity if you repeal corporate tax credits.
Educators *must* be part of the conversation and advocacy at every level. Opening schools safely cannot occur without adequate funding. Learn more and take action today: https://t.co/cIrtu5atRg 📲 #WeAreCTA

CA has procured nearly 11,000 rooms to protect our homeless population from #COVID19.
Today, we announced Motel 6 is setting aside up to 5,025 rooms at 47 locations in 19 counties like the one we’re in front of today. We must continue to protect our homeless from this disease.
Here's one of my go-to websites during remote learning - a one stop shop for a range of maths manipulatives. So helpful via screenshare during video sessions with students! Easy to use. Pass it on! #iteachmath#elemmathchat https://t.co/5FCk4JBaOL
Lots of CalSTRS workshops coming up at the RTA office on Feb 18 and 25, March 10, and April 7. Each one has a different focus. Great for new, mid-career and close-to-retirement teachers. Call or email the RTA office to register. Info on the flyers.

CTA Vice President, David Goldberg, addresses RTA about the benefits of being a union worker. He also discussed the new Schools and Communities First initiative to reclaim over $11 billion a year for California public schools by closing a commercial property tax loophole.
Citrus Valley High School teachers are standing strong with their union in their #RedForEd during week two of “Work the Contract.” Educators are asking for a fair contract settlement from the district. @WeAreCTA
What is “Work the Contract”? It is NOT a strike. Teachers will perform duties they are contractually obligated and get paid to do. So no working during lunch, extracurricular tutoring, club meetings, grading outside of school hours, or other unpaid and voluntary duties.@WeAreCTA
Redlands Teachers had a fun social hour at The Tartan of Redlands. Packed place. Great crowd. Lots of Work the Contract talk, lively conversations and smiles. #WeAreRTA
Redlands is #RedForEd once again to ask the district and school board for a fair contract. RUSD educators are among the lowest paid out of 32 surrounding districts despite delivering top results in student achievement. @WeAreCTA
Hundreds of RTA and RESPA workers packed a school board meeting last night to ask the district for a fair contract. Although RUSD ranks top in student achievement, we are at the bottom in terms of pay—31 out of 32 surrounding districts. Fair compensation now! @WeAreCTA
