Gen Z is the first generation in recorded history to score lower cognitively than the generation before it in every single area.
Read that again. It's unprecedented.
Every generation before them was smarter than the last. The Flynn Effect — the steady rise in IQ scores — held for nearly 100 years. Until now.
If you look at what changed, the answer is obvious: screens, processed food, absent parents, and an education system that prioritizes feelings over facts.
These kids are being raised by iPads. Fed by DoorDash. Taught by TikTok. Parented by daycare.
And we act surprised when they can't focus, can't read cursive, can't have a conversation without checking their phone, and can't handle any form of discomfort.
I don't trust people who don't like kids. Any healthy person smiles when they see children. This generation needs parents. Real, present, intentional parents. Not more apps.
"We've arranged a society based on science and technology, in which nobody understands anything about science and technology. And this combustible mixture of ignorance and power, sooner or later, is going to blow up in our faces."
- Carl Sagan
Execution is the Real Strategy.
Too many great ideas never leave the drawing board. Vision alone does not build businesses, execution does.
As Our Founder @TonyOElumelu reminds us, real progress comes from doing the work - consistently, deliberately, and without excuses.

Bro to bro- do not try entrepreneurship if you don't have a high tolerance for uncertainty. For long periods of time, you genuinely won’t know if you’re early, wrong, unlucky, or just stupid. You need to be cheap before you can afford not to be. Because raising money and burning it is easy. Building something people are willing to pay for is hard. You need high self esteem and a low ego and you've to be comfortable being wrong, looking stupid and changing your mind. Most importantly, learn how to lose without becoming a loser. Because you’re going to lose a lot- money, people, deals & time. Just don’t lose your ability to think clearly. And btw, don’t go looking for motivation. It is useless after a while. What you really need is stamina. Both physical & mental.

Social media engages us with hate, greed, anger and fear. So what happens when we create an information ecosystem that constantly makes us feel angry and afraid?

This week, don’t sit back and wait for luck to find you; build it.
Create your own openings. Take the step you’ve been postponing. Send the message. Start the work.
Opportunity grows where effort is consistent.
And hope? It becomes real the moment you decide to act on it.
The excitement of starting is powerful, but true impact is built in the moments when the applause fades, the challenges come, and you still choose to keep going.
As our Founder, @TonyOElumelu reminds us:
“Those who remain focused long after the early excitement fades are the ones who create lasting value.”
This week, stay committed to the vision, even when progress feels slow.
