Team Dimick has been busy on our two Flexible Learning Days! Baking, creating, exploring...can't wait to hear more details when we are back together again tomorrow. #nfldedu#gvp659
We went out to burn off energy after MAP testing...came right back in after the craziest wind & temp drop I’ve ever experienced! Embraced the chaos by saying “I can’t wait to write about this tomorrow!” Just about every student wrote their version of this today. #beingawriter
Day 3 of IDR...students have been reading for 15 minutes and are still completely engaged in their books! The only sounds I hear are quiet giggles and flipping pages. @CollabClassroom
How many squares can you fit into an 11x13 rectangle? Starting the year with @youcubed activities to work on our #mathmindset thanks to the amazing @joboaler and team!
The Game Fair was a blast today! Students created their own game, wrote a persuasive essay convincing others to play it, then used economic strategies to get as many tickets as possible from their customers.
It was a great first day of #mathmadness! The 4th graders tried to find all the teachers dressed as dominos with improper fractions, then converted them to mixed numbers!
Last week before the snow, we got out in the sun to practice using the @2ndStepProgram problem solving steps! Ss chose a common recess issue to practice with a partner.
S: Say the problem without blame
T: Think of solutions
E: Explore consequences
P: Pick the best solution
Students had a blast creating book stacks of titles they want to read over winter break, then uploaded to @Seesaw to share with families and keep them accountable. A few needed extra bags to carry all their books! 📚Great to see such excited readers. #gvp659
Students have been busy researching an extreme weather event with books, articles, videos, and websites. Today they began preparing posters to share all they’ve learned with their classmates!
