Every Majlis election, citizens on Dhaftharu are randomly distributed among Male’ constituencies. For the next election they are redistributed again, meaning there is no continuity. MP candidates only need to address their concerns during campaign, not after they are elected.
This is a serious flaw in the system that has to be resolved even before the next parliamentary elections - so that the thousands of people such as @sariiira are truly represented #RighToRepresentation

Firmly agree. It is part of our manifesto for Majlis reform. I think we have been able to initiate the discussion. Would be great if @ElectionsMv can submit a bill for the necessary constitutional amendment.
Having said that, I cannot see current MPs elected under the existing conditions, with many ‘representing’ constituencies they have little or no links with, and none elected with a pledge to implement this amendment to support this change.
We should make it clear to prospective 20th Majlis candidates that this is something the public demands.
