Today is #WorldOceanDay. A day to celebrate our oceans, which are the frontline against climate change.
@TeamIthaca is rowing around GB🇬🇧collecting data on ocean pollution and biodiversity, to help scientists understand our seas and ultimately protect them.

The @TeamIthaca crew had a fantastic start on Sunday, but after battling against some fierce winds over the last couple of days, they've decided to anchor up and take shelter. ⚓️
We’re currently on anchor, taking shelter from the wind.
Our ‘Plan A’ for the first 48 hours was always ambitious, given the strength of the wind forecast (with it being a race, we can’t choose the start date!). Nevertheless we gave it a go, but couldn’t get round the corner.
The wind is continuing to build and it’s likely we will be here until Saturday morning.
It’s inevitable that we will have to anchor as we go round given the unpredictable British weather and multiple tides to contend with - something that is very different to an Atlantic crossing
@TeamIthaca is rowing 2,000 miles around GB, conducting environmental research while raising money for @CanRehabTrust
The very best of luck ladies 🙏💜
