Gambia U-23 defeated Burkina Faso 1-0 in Cotonou today. Momodou Bojang scored from the penalty spot in the second half after Lamin Jarjou was brought down. The return leg is September 27 in Marrakech, Morocco, with the winner advancing to the next stage to face Senegal

Banjul Mayoral aspirant, The Independent Stadium manager and 2nd Vice President of the GFF Mr Ebou Faye donated a sum of D100,000 to the Banjul sports committee as his contribution to Waive the registration fee of the 20 teams contesting the 2022 Banjul Nawettans.

The 5 Teams that made it to the nawettan proper through the 2021 qualify rounds will be refunded the D5,000 registration fee they paid to take part in the qualify rounds.

Abdou Jammeh has today released a final 24-man Gambia U-23 squad for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Burkina Faso on September 21 and 27 in Benin and in Morocco respectively. The list include 12 foreign-based players.
