@Teamhanrahan62 Agreed- I could work around that better. If there were teachers in on different days, that would alleviate some worry as far as safety goes as well. It makes so much sense to offer different options.
@Teamhanrahan62 And how easily that stress can be alleviated by working remotely in your own home. You could still be responsive and focused on your teaching, but know your kids are also taken care of.
During @dist57 board meeting, Dr. Aumiller stated the district will be flexible with their staff as they work together to make the best possible remote learning. I appreciate that they trust the teacher's professionalism, whether they choose to work in the classroom or from home.
How can we expect our families to provide a safe+healthy home learning environment for our students if we can’t even provide that for our own families? There is zero reason why we should be working from our classroom to start the year.
As of now, none of us know whether we are teaching remotely or in person. The volume and complexity of planning that needs to happen in a very short amount of time is considerable.
What does in person learning look like in the middle of a pandemic? 6+ hours in a mask. 6 feet of distance. Minimal movement. Anxiety. Is this environment conducive to learning?
The School Bd. has directed D57 to move forward with the plan of holding full remote learning when school resumes and phasing in a hybrid model on 10/19 if it is deemed safe at that time. Please read Dr. Aumiller's Bd. mtg. recap/next steps, at this link: https://t.co/x5Dtietm67.
Dear @JBPritzker we are on the rise again and schools are about to open. Superintendents around the state are in a no win situation. Make the call to go remote. Don’t let IL be the next FL.
