Coaches: THS appreciates all the โฅ๏ธ our kids have been getting evaluation periodโ๏ธGoing forward this season we ask that all coaches & recruiters reach/contact Coach Will, Coach Errick, or Coach Chad ( Program/recruiting Director) before contacting our players. Thanks. @thshoopz
Someone make this make sense to meโฆ
A player can play spot minutes on a circuit team, have very little responsibility, not guard the best players, not be asked to carry a team, put up below-average numbers, and college coaches fall in love because she โlooks the part.โ
Meanwhile, a player on a non-circuit team can play a great schedule, guard, handle, score, rebound, defend, lead, and be responsible for winningโฆ and somehow the response is, โWe need to see more.โ
Make it make sense.
Take the circuit player and put her on a non-top circuit team where she has to be one of the best players on the floor every night against good competition. Could she do it? Could she lead? Could she help her team win?
Now take the non-circuit player and put her on a major circuit team. Cut her production in half because sheโs surrounded by talent and suddenly sheโs a Power 4 prospect with offers rolling in.
Thatโs the reality nobody wants to talk about. And it happens in high school basketball too.
Before anyone gets mad, this isnโt a shot at circuit basketball. Circuits matter. Exposure matters. Relationships matter.
But letโs stop pretending the jersey doesnโt influence perception.
This mindset is exactly why so many talented players are under-recruited. Itโs also why so many college coaches are living in the transfer portal looking for answers. Sometimes weโre evaluating who looks the part instead of who has actually been asked to do the hard part.
And while weโre at it, maybe thatโs why there are so many coaches in the coaching portal these days too. ๐
The game has gotten backwards.
And to the coaches who are offended by this postโฆ donโt worry, you probably werenโt recruiting our kids anyway. ๐
The THS way is youโre going to learn how to compete! ๐ฏ
Just because you play hard doesnโt automatically mean you know how to compete. Thereโs a difference. Competing is about toughness, discipline, communication, accountability, energy, and doing whatever it takes to win!
Thatโs the standard over here. Our girls had a great live period weekend showing how to compete!๐๐ฅ
2027 5โ11 G @PfeifferGreene was in kill mode at #TheHeartofTexas this past weekend in Dallas helping lead THS to a 3-1 record against high level competition.
She continued proving why she belongs in the conversation with some of the top players in the gym. Impacts winning in so many ways with her IQ, toughness, versatility, shot making, and ability to make big plays when it matters most. IYKYK @FulshearGBB

2027 5โ11 G @BentleyJohnson_ was all over the court at #TheHeartofTexas last weekend impacting the game in so many different ways. ๐๐ฅ
A true swiss army knife that can do a little bit of everything. Her athleticism, IQ, versatility, and nonstop motor make her one of the more intriguing prospects in Texas. Thereโs a reason her teammates call her โLeBron.โ ๐
Does whatever it takes to help her team win and brings energy every possession. The phone has definitely been ringing. ๐๐๐ฅ
2027 G @carlielew1s took her game to another level last weekend at #HeartofTexas showing why sheโs quickly becoming recognized as one of the top guards in Houston. ๐๐ฅ
She hounded the ball full court all weekend, made big winning plays, and scored at all three levels against high level competition. What separates her is her elite speed, feel for the game, and high IQ.
Picked up her first two offers this weekend with plenty more coming soon. ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
6โ1 F/C @unityamayo made a name for herself last weekend at #HeartofTexas and proved she can compete with anybody on the floor. ๐๐ฅ
Her energy, leadership, rebounding, and defensive presence were a huge reason THS finished 3-1 against elite competition. She finished strong at the rim all weekend, made huge momentum plays, and brought toughness every game.
The combination of her motor, physicality, and ability to impact winning has her stock trending way up. ๐๐๐๐ฅ
5โ7 G Goan Yoon turned heads all weekend at #HeartofTexas. ๐ฐ๐ท๐๐ฅ
After only being in the U.S. for two weeks, her flair, passion for the game, and skill set were on full display against high level competition. A definite fan favorite all weekend with the way she plays the game.
High motor, skilled, confident, and fearless. She has a very bright future and is already starting to pop up on a lot of college coachesโ radar. ๐๐๐ฅ
