@TonyJWriter @CORTRoad I just had to stay close to the front pack just in case something happened on the last lap. Wasn't going to dump anyone coming to the line if I couldn't get past you cleanly.
Well, we dragged the @CORTRoad SLM out of the woods tonight. We had a 6th place car all race, some timing and scoring issues ruined our strategy. But it's amazing that we took the 6th place car and finished....6th. I mean, not that amazing, but mildly amazing.
Screwed up @CORTRoad qualifying, started near the back, only had a fuel mileage chance, so that's what we did.
Started P9
Finished P5.
Led a whopping 3 laps.
So the big boss wanted a special night paint scheme for the @CORTRoad night race. "Something bright and flashy" he said. So, we painted the car black to teach him a lesson. If we aren't shut down by 7pm, we'll be racing at Bristol tonight, 200 laps. Wish us luck.
Well, we dove into the deep end tonight for @CORThursday. At a track we haven't been to since Sports Car GT, and boy did we perform like it at the start. Qualified 9th, 5th at halfway, led 1 lap, and came home 5th at the finish. Fastest lap on lap 36/40. Just steady improvement.
OH LOOK, another @CORThursday race where I screw up qualifying but pass most of the field through fuel strategy and keeping the car clean.
Started: 18th
Finished: 3rd.
We'll be curb hopping and bending fenders in Montreal for @CORThursday tonight! Or, as the locals like to say, "Pour de plus amples informations au sujet des coussins de sécurité, voyez le manuel du propriétaire." We cant help but agree.
FUN FACT: The last @CORThursday race at South Boston was the first time we haven't led a lap, or scored a bonus point, or scored a point period, or finished a race.
Wait a second, that's not a fun fact at all...
Well, more incident points in this races than the whole season combined so far. But it's over, and we'll enjoy the break. See yall in a fortnight. @CORThursday
So we led some laps, finished 2nd at the stage break, had enough gas to finish well above what we should have, then a caution came out. Oh well, that's @CORThursday for you.
Stay out, get some stage points, he said. Ended up playing a fuel strategy game, but a late caution ended our hopes with a P10. Passed a lot of cars, led a lap. Hard to be bummed about a top-10, but we had more left in the tank, literally.
Well, I'm sure we got the record for most cars passed. Started 2nd from last, spun out lap 1 just to make it exciting, played fuel mileage perfectly, somehow got a top-5 finish in just my 2nd @CORThursday race. I'll take it.
