Shoutout to @TamathaPaul for winning the biggest victory of any Wellington City Councillor since STV started. A majority of her votes got redistributed, which means she could've won twice over lol

If this doesn't show that Wellingtonians want climate action, idk what does

[Thomas Nash @nashthomas]

Final results for Wellington City Council show two stand out wins:
✅ Tory Whanau got more votes than the next two candidates together (the Mayor and an MP);
✅ Tamatha Paul got more first preferences than *the next three* candidates together.
Just absolutely massive mandates.

[Te Aro Greens @TeAroGreens]

The final results are out for the Wellington City Council elections, and we are so happy to see @TamathaPaul @laurie_foon @nikau4poneke @MissWhanau elected! Mīharo, ngā mihi!

Commiserations to @lachlanp_ @luana_scow and Robyn Parkinson who worked super hard but just missed out.

#BREAKING The Green Party stands with University staff striking across the country today. We urge the Minister of Education to ensure pay that keeps pace with rising costs; and to bring union, govt officials, and sector leaders together to discuss a way forward.
