Basics people get wrong

SIP is not a product, it is a payment schedule. You invest in a fund; the SIP only decides when the money goes in. Same fund lump sum, same fund SIP, different entry prices, that is the only difference.

A bad fund on SIP is still a bad fund. Averaging into a scheme that lags its own benchmark for five years just gives you a smoother ride to a worse place.

SIP does not protect you from losses. In a falling market every instalment is buying into the fall, and your value drops with it. What it buys you is more units at lower prices, which only pays off if you keep paying.

So it protects you from timing, not from risk. Those are two different things and the industry sells them as one.

ETHUSD has tested $1,850 four times in six months. Never closed above it.

February bottomed here. March rallied off it. June broke through and flipped it to resistance. July stalled at it.

And this recovery leg is running on thinner volume than the June breakdown. Buyers are here, not in size.

Close above 1,900 on volume → 2,000 to 2,050 in play.
Loss of 1,780 → June's 1,490 back on the table.
