I got my lawyers to write them in February of 2021 and they did, but unfortunately my mum died in March which obviously shattered me and I barely had time to follow up but now I’m ready and we’re either gonna meet in court or they’ll pu me my money quietly either way, I get paid

They owed me outstanding salaries and that I want them paid as soon as possible. HR replied saying I didn’t show up to work for two weeks and that’ll be deducted from my December pay. As I tweet this today, I’ve had no response, no payment, nothing it’s been 2+ years. Nothing

If I failed to show up, I’ll be terminated. When I shared the email with my family, they we livid and disappointed they asked me to resign because these people had no respect for their workers and didn’t deserve me, so I replied with my resignation letter and clearly stated that

I was shocked! So you guys have money for loan but not for the salaries you owe? She sent me and email with the loan form attached of course hoping I’d apply. I refused and said I wanted my salary, immediately she sent me a mail saying I had 24 hrs to resume at the office and

I said to her, you have a husband that at least supports you so you still manage to come to work, I don’t. Right after our conversation HR calls and says I need to come back to work and I said same thing to her, guess what she then proceeds to tell me that I can apply for a loan!

Said I should return to work. So I asked her, “ since I started work have I ever missed work” She said no, I asked have I called in sick? She said no, then I said I do not have money to keep coming to work the money I have I’ll spend it on my mum’s radiotherapy.

Until we were paid as all my savings was going into a job that I wasn’t sure would pay, instead of using it to care for my parent who needed it the most. So I started home and took care of my mum. Out of the blue my line manager calls and says “she’s tired of covering for me”

I remember how my uncle gave me a 100$ at the time, said “go and make your hair and nails I know you’re broke”, big babe like me 😝 these ppl had my back. But our slave drivers kept demanding we show up to work yet no pay. Finally in December, I was done so decided not to show up

That’s was shocker number 2. I still have a message from the HR boss, categorically asking me and some others to be on the news bit while the pandemic was still on. (So this isn’t some made up gist).
So march money went to voicemail.

Let me go and eat first….more will come.

Then Covid hit and we all had to work from home at a point. A few of us wrote three to four stories per day for the news dept and tv website, submitted to the editor in charge for editing. Guess what that march salary was never paid, we were told that management changed so no pay

I had to pay for sessions every 3weeks and all those who say on that table with me agreed that it wouldn’t be a problem. The reason was open about it was cos I didn’t want any confusion or not being able to pay for the treatment on time. Guess what I got my Jan pay in March!

So for those who are asking for clarity, all the terms in my contract were breached. I resumed at this tv house in January as a news anchor, before I singled an accepted the job I made it clear that I would not want my salary to be delayed as I had a sick parent at the time.

Soon I’ll be airing a Tv station in Lagos that still owes me salary from 2020, instead of paying asked me to apply for a loan from the company! E shock me o! And when I refused it they told me they’ll sack me, them still never pay me o! I’m not ready but soon I will be ready!
