What if you could step inside the mind of a hacker… before they step into your system?
This Friday, we’re diving into real-world cyber attacks at Black Hat Friday, an electrifying cybersecurity event designed to expose how cybercriminals operate and, more importantly,
Hey guys it’s me again 👀
Let’s breakdown this meme
“I bought a 2TB SSD
But it shows as 1.8TB SSD”
So the obvious question:
Where did my 0.2TB go?
Short answer: nowhere. It’s not missing.
Here’s what’s really happening 👇
Storage manufacturers use decimal math (base-10):
1 TB = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes
So 2 TB = 2,000,000,000,000 bytes
Operating systems use binary math (base-2):
1 TiB = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes
But your OS still labels it as “TB”
When your OS converts the numbers:
2,000,000,000,000 ÷ 1,099,511,627,776 ≈ 1.8 TiB
That’s the “missing” space.
No files stolen
No secret partition
No shady SSD behavior
Your OS just counts differently
Not to brag, but i haven't lost a chess game on Duolingo since October.
A thrilling journey of learning, I hope I hold the unbeaten streak until the end of November.
Guess the move made to end today's match.
