Ruto stood on this very corridor in May and promised: “By August this year, the section from Rironi to Naivasha, we shall have completed the dualling.”
🌻August has come and gone. The new promise? December. Then it was April 2027 for the whole highway. Then June 2027 was KeNHA’s “official” date all along.
🌻Contractors now say they are “on course” — at roughly 20% progress with four months to go. Kenyans have heard “we are on course” before
🌻The only thing moving faster than traffic on this road is the goalpost.
In Game of Thrones, Tywin Lannister told King Joffrey Baratheon, "Any man who must say, ‘I am the king,’ is no true king.”
That scene from Game of Thrones has been living rent-free in my mind as I watch the unfolding politics around the Linda Mwananchi movement.
Joffrey wanted everyone to recognise his authority. He wanted to be seen as the unquestionable king. But Tywin Lannister understood something deeper. Real power does not always have to introduce itself.
And perhaps that is the political lesson Babu Owino and James Orengo need to understand about Edwin Sifuna.
While others are declaring titles, positioning themselves for leadership and openly speaking about presidential ambitions, Sifuna has maintained a rather different posture. This movement belongs to the people.
Sometimes, the crown chooses the head before the head even asks for it.
I challenge anyone to show me one occasion when Edwin Sifuna has stood on a podium and declared himself the supreme leader of this movement.
Show me where he has demanded to be crowned. Show me where he has claimed ownership of what the people themselves have built.
And perhaps Tywin Lannister’s words explain why that matters. A river does not announce that it is flowing. You simply see the water moving.

Wueh… I just sat down and read this Tertiary Education Bill 2026 from top to bottom, and it'snot what was mostly sold.🚨
Ruto stood on that podium and looked us dead in the eye, promising every child full funding for university.(free university)
“Background will not matter,” he said. “Every qualified student will get full support.”
Kenyans clapped. Parents sighed in relief. Students celebrated.
Then you open the actual Bill…
Clause 44 says the whole Fund is mainly for loans which we can say ok.
Clause 49(1) forces you to start paying principal + interest within one year of finishing.
Clause 49(4) allows them to take up to 25% of your salary. If you add other deductions like nssf etc you are finished.
Clause 30(d) lets them set any interest rate they want - no limit. And this is bad. It means the CS can increase interest rates to any amount.
Clause 60 makes the debt last forever. They can chase your grandchildren. They intend to remove something important using this clause
Clause 30(k) gives them power to walk into private companies and inspect like police. They are to have Quasi police type of powers
This is not free education. This is HELB on steroids, with sharper teeth.
TEFA is just HELB rebranded (Clauses 64–67).
They sold us a dream and wrote a debt sentence.
Where exactly in this Bill is education free? Show me the clause. I’m waiting. Also its not a guarantee all students will even qualify.
Parents, students, wake up.
Life so private, Africans don’t know that 90% of Chinese working in Africa are Chinese prisoners that were sent out to make more money for their government.
@Mr_Diabolical_ @Mushaka_ They tried with Tizen sometime back but it failed terribly, infact it's advantageous for Samsung to remain in the Android ecosystem because of the open source nature of android.
