The whole thing is, most cloud technologies have the same foundational components so if you learn one, you learn them all. I did oracle certs when they first had free offerings back during COVID and I can confirm most of the topics mirrored AWS topics. So worth it.
If your ads are pulling clicks but conversions aren’t lining up, the problem isn’t always in the creative.
You launch a new creative. CTR looks strong, engagement feels solid, but CPA is way off.
So you shut it down.
That’s the mistake I see most brands are making.
@jforjacob recently shared a simple hack on this that made me stop and think.
Instead of killing off the ad, spin up a quick lander dedicated only to that specific creative.
We started testing this too, and the results are wild.
When a creative is pulling clicks, it’s already proven the hook is working.
The audience is leaning in, and the problem isn’t the ad but in the handoff.
If you send that traffic to a homepage or a generic product page, of course, it’ll tank.
But if you point it to a page built around the exact promise that pulled them in, you’ll see your conversion rates shoot up.
Consider your ad as the headline and your lander as the story around that headline. Most brands never connect the two.
They toss out perfectly good hooks because they’re judging on the wrong metric.
Once you’ve got a few flexible lander templates, it’s almost no extra work to just swap in messaging that mirrors the ad.
That little shift can turn a “loser” ad into one of your winners.
If you see strong signals but weak sales, pause before you hit the kill switch because your ad might not be broken at all.
It might just be starving for the right landing page.
Want THE #1 retention hack?
Make people feel like you actually give a shit.
That’s it.
Have:
- Support that responds.
- Success managers that care.
- Customers who feel seen.
That’s your moat in SaaS.
Not some shiny new feature or random discount code.
Anthropic just dropped a full masterclass on building tools for your agents, here's the gist:
> evaluate your tools religiously
> limit the number of tools
> namespace your tools
> return meaningful context from tools
> prompt-engineer your tool descriptions
what each means:
Transcribing, re-reading, highlighting, etc., are all bullshit study techniques.
Seriously, if you want to bullshit someone into thinking that you are studying, without actually retaining much information, then those are the techniques to use.
But if you’re interested in actually retaining information, then retrieval is the way. As Yang et al. (2023) summarize:
"...[P]ractice testing (i.e., practice retrieval) is one of the most effective strategies to consolidate long-term retention of studied information and facilitate subsequent learning of new information, a phenomenon labeled the testing effect, the retrieval practice effect, or test-enhanced learning (Carpenter et al., 2022; Pan & Rickard, 2018; Roediger & Butler, 2011; Shanks et al., 2023; Yang et al., 2021).
It has been firmly established that retrieval practice is more beneficial by comparison with many other learning strategies, such as restudying (Roediger & Karpicke, 2006b), note-taking (Heitmann et al., 2018; Rummer et al., 2017), concept-mapping (Karpicke & Blunt, 2011) and other elaborative strategies (Larsen et al., 2013)."
TLDR: practice techniques that center around retrieving information directly from one’s brain produce superior learning outcomes compared to techniques that involve re-ingesting information from an external source.
Anyone could quit their job if the did 3 things
1. Spend 1 hour a day making a piece of social content and engaging with others - talk about whatever your passion is or skill from your job
2. Write one email a day to people that found you on social
3. Run $20 of ads a day targeting people who saw your social and read your emails
Have the ads be a DM to you, personally reply to them all. Offer them a free call where you give value for 20 mins
If they are a fit, offer them 1:1 help with what you are an expert on
Voila
Don’t just store receipts in a shoebox somewhere.
- Store them digitally
- Write down the purpose of the expense
- Name files clearly with the date and vendor
2 extra seconds of effort saves you from hours of work later.
Or an endless number of questions from your bookkeeper.
