@airmainengineer Looks like some crazy cross winds, and while you see them crabbing down with crosswind input, I think they removed them too soon. Pilot didn't feel comfortable and did a go-around (a sign of great decision making and piloting!)

@Hitchslap1 I read a lot, so I am familiar with all these words and their meanings, but I haven't heard all of these pronounced. Ex. I defaulted onto the Latin pronunciation of "puer" in "puerperal". This test would not be a good assessment of my IQ - ideally you'd want a battery of tests.

@gov_fails I'm not gen Z, but I used to love a good takeout or restaurant meal, until most of it became slop. I've investedin cooking at home and I can make most meals better than what I can get outside. I don't understand why gen Z aren't investing in this amazing skill.

@ConceptualJames I warned a friend about the direction the Canadian social milieu was going in. He avoided all the woke left crap, but veered straight into the woke right crap. It's like most Canadians have this woke urge no matter what.

Teaching in the age of LLMs:

I failed 4 students, for the first time ever. I also gave more A+'s than ever before.

In previous years, students realized after the first or second HW that they weren't in Kansas anymore and needed to work hard.

No more. Just solve it with LLMs.

But then the midterm arrives, and they can answer 0 of 40 questions. Do they reform their ways? Nah, they just decide to "give up" on class, assuming they'll get a B, or a C, or whatever, because they submitted HW and got decent grades on those. And never before have they encountered a professor who will dare fail them.

The flip side is that the most "agentic" students now have the world's best tutor at their disposal. They deeply understand the material and aced my (intentionally very difficult) exams. As if we live in "The Diamond Age".

Inequality galore.

From my vantage point, "the permanent underclass" appears to be about agency, not assets.
