OK Jewish Twitter. I have a real question. With the expected nor'easter in NY/NJ, I’m pretty sure my only meal in the Sukkah these first 2 days of Yom Tov will be tonight. Should we bother putting up decorations which will get drenched and maybe ruined in the storm?

On 9/11, 25 years ago after I heard the planes hit, I realized my brother worked in the 51st floor of Tower 1. It was my third year teaching at @frischschool & and I was supposed to teach a roomful on teenagers on the 5th day of school not knowing if my brother was alive or dead.

That is the emotion that I had for those three longs hours standing in front of my students not knowing whether my brother was alive or dead.

That is the emotion of Rosh Hashanah. מי יחיה ומי ימות. Who will live and who will die. We are being judged. Our fate is being decided.
