A Celebration of Progress: Launching The Innovation Awards 2025
As we step into a future defined by innovation and ambition, I am delighted to reflect on an incredible milestone—yesterday’s launch of The Innovation Awards 2025 at the West Midlands Business Festival. Held at the prestigious hotel Du Vin, the event was a resounding success, bringing together over 175 attendees from across industries, all sharing a vision for progress and growth.
This marks the beginning of an exciting journey to spotlight and celebrate the trailblazers who are redefining the boundaries of possibility. The Innovation Awards serve as a platform to champion ground-breaking ideas and foster collaboration. The sheer energy in the room yesterday reaffirmed the region’s relentless drive to lead in innovation and technology.
A huge thank you to Richard Parker and the @WMBFestival . This festival stands as a testament to the transformative work happening in the West Midlands, and we are proud to play a role in shaping its future. We're also delighted to be supporting Birmingham City FC and their new foundation which @BCFC_CP spoke about last night.
It was amazing to hear from past winners and the highly commended like Mitchell Barnes from RYSE 3D Ltd, Joanna Birch from Growthinnk, @ChrisCyber1 from CyberQ Group, Pamela Aculey from Just Like Me Books, Tim Adey from Origin8tive, Andrew Gomarsall MBE from Bioscope Technologies, Valentina Barker from Innovation Alliance for the West Midlands
Looking ahead, The Innovation Awards 2025 will continue to highlight pioneering businesses and individuals pushing boundaries across key sectors. With the landscape of technology, sustainability, and enterprise evolving rapidly, these awards will not only recognise excellence but also act as a catalyst for further innovation and investment.

I visited the Birmingham Plasma centre tonight to donate my plasma -
The whole process took 34 mins and was an opportunity to lie back and take it easy and eat some snacks!
What is Plasma ?
Plasma is the part of your blood that carries platelets, red blood cells and white blood cells around the body.
Plasma makes up approximately 55% of your blood, and contains antibodies, known as immunoglobulins, which fight infection. These antibodies are made into medicines to help people with rare diseases, immune disorders and genetic conditions.
By giving plasma you could help build a person's antibodies, help to heal burns, protect pregnancies, and help babies' hearts to continue to beat.
If you are interested in becoming a donor contact the centre on
