We’re deeply grateful to several fellow Fredericton social and tech communities for amplifying our event, our superstar attendees, and our lovely volunteers.
We’re pumped up and raring to go. Watch this space for more such events.
🦵🏽⚽ What a cracker of a launch it was.
A mix 20+ of students and professionals munched on pizza and pop actively working and contributing to open source projects last Friday was a sight to behold!

Adding a note of levity to the proceedings were attendees’ children very ably looked after by our community volunteers.
Bottom line, 🚀 our first event was a roaring success 🚀.

Building open-source projects over mailing lists. Sounds tedious, right? But, that was precisely how contributions happened not so long ago.
Today, open-source contributors can focus on learning the codebase and its conventions, allowing for⚡ higher-quality⚡contributions.
Childcare should be a given in community events. But, it is not the norm.
So, we're highlighting that parents are absolutely welcome to bring their children to our #hacktoberfest2022 event. Childcare will be available.

Open source projects power some of the most impactful tech in the world. Most are maintained by people who receive with very little support or monetary reward in return.
@hacktoberfest offers the larger tech community an opportunity to honor and contribute to open source.
