Hey Iowa House Republicans - please split the AEA Bill into at least two parts soon. The proposed teacher pay increases are exciting and should be non-controversial. The part with the AEAs needs significantly more time for input and modification.

Maybe Schoolhouse Rock is failing me. Bills have to pass 2 chambers & be signed by the Governor to be laws. The AEA Bill dropped yesterday & the DE has an email out w/a deadline to choose if districts are going to stay w/the AEA & has jobs posted. Uhhh… democracy? Transparency?

Schools, both public and private, have suffered from reduced services when AEAs were reduced several years ago. This proposal will diminish education support for EVERYONE. Contact your legislators and let them know they need to say no to this bill.
