With respect to Google, the entire reason people are flocking to old digicams over their phones is because HDR does not equal good.
Not everything needs to be a mid-tone. Contrast gives an image pop. I feel like I’ve been taking crazy pills since the iPhone 7

Android has always been about choice. Today, we’re sharing how we’re evolving the ecosystem so you don’t have to choose between an open platform and a secure one.
We’re introducing a new advanced flow for sideloading where power users can go through a one time flow to enable their devices to load software from unverified developers. We’ve designed this process to stop more vulnerable users from being coerced to do this during a guided scam (which are a major problem today for people)
We also have new account types for students and hobbyists that address their feedback.
📣 Sideloading is here to stay.
Users will be able to install apps from unverified developers via a new advanced flow, which includes safeguards that stop scammers and maintain choice.

We launched the Phone (4a) and Headphone (a) at Central Saint Martins last week.
300+ press from around the world in the morning, then we opened the space up to CSM students in the afternoon. Watching them pick up the devices for the first time, seeing that genuine excitement, reminded me that this is exactly why we make products the way we do.
We're building one of the strongest teams in the industry, and our momentum is real. Let's go!
Back in 2011, I went into computer hardware repairs. I started with laptop chargers. I remember peeling back the rubber, soldering wires, and always staring at that weird plastic bulge on the cable. It didn't look like it did anything, but it was on every single high-end charger I fixed. I used to wonder if it was a hidden battery or just a weight to keep the cord from tangling.
It turns out, that little lump is the unsung hero of your workspace.
It's called a Ferrite Bead, and its only job is to act as a silencer for your electricity.
See, every electronic device is naturally noisy. They send out invisible electromagnetic signals. Without that cylinder, your charger cable would turn into a giant antenna, broadcasting interference that would make your Wi-Fi slow, your TV flicker, or your speakers buzz.
Inside that plastic shell is just a chunk of magnetic iron. It catches all that electrical noise and kills it before it can escape the wire.
It’s basically a muzzle for your cable so your gadgets can live in peace.
INALEGWU.
Phone (4a), Phone (4a) Pro, and Headphone (a) just launched today! More capable, more expressive, and more colorful than anything we’ve built before.
Nothing is designed for a generation bored with conformity. We exist to provide the canvas. The real stories are written by the creatives, designers, and techies who make these devices their own.
Four colours. One Phone (4a). Revealed at MWC today.
We haven’t played much with colour before, until now. More expressive. More playful. Still unmistakably Nothing.
Tech used to feel optimistic. Let’s bring that back.
More on 5 March, 10:30 GMT.
OPPO Find X9 Pro review - an eye opening experience
Hi everyone 👋
A bit late to the party, but after 3 months with the OPPO Find X9 Pro, here’s my full review.
But before diving in, I think a bit of context is necessary 🧵
We were promised there would be "an app for that" and for a while, it felt true. But open app stores gradually gave way to the same few default apps and platforms - built by a handful of companies, for billions of people at once.
Essential Apps start from a different belief: software should be tailored to your specific needs and context. From a simple prompt, you create personalized apps. No ads. No dark patterns. No one-size-fits-all.
This is a shift toward a billion apps for a billion people - free from walled gardens.
Today, we’re rolling out Essential Apps Beta following our Alpha release late last year. Updates now edit only what you change and keep the rest intact, with one-click rollback if anything breaks. Publishing is clearer, project states are easier to follow, and organization is tighter across the board. We’ve added location, calendar, and contacts permissions, so you can build apps that actually respond to your context. Image uploads are now supported, and a refreshed design baseline improves spacing, typography, tap areas, accessibility, and dark mode consistency - with more widget sizes on the way.
Can't wait to see what our community builds next!
NEW VIDEO - I talked to a few people working at smartphone companies about why not everyone has switched to silicon carbon batteries, and uncovered some interesting concerns about swelling and longevity: https://t.co/jTLLoM6Bn4
@WaterFlashRZ, a developer from our community, just added support for CMF Headphone Pro and Neckband Pro to Ear (web), a web app that lets you control @nothing audio settings from your browser. Since 2023, he’s continuously expanded it to support new Nothing products as they launch.
Our community builds what they want to exist. Developers saw potential in our Glyph Interface and built app ecosystems. Glyphify became an advanced glyph composer, Dot Hub reached 10,000+ downloads. Others created n-dial as a dialer, Noting Notes for note-taking, Core Music as a music player. When members wanted fonts for different languages, they designed them.
This inspired our annual Community Edition campaign where fans co-create real products with us. For Phone (3a) Community Edition, 700+ people submitted concepts for hardware, accessories, software, and marketing. When your community is at the center of how you build, you tap into talent beyond your team.

So if you've ever wondered "why are there so many people?" or "how do the intros actually get made?" or "what is it actually like to work there in between the videos?" or literally anything else about this world, then this epic video is for you. The team worked REALLY hard on it and I'm very proud 🙏🏾
