Beautiful young New York born mother was beaten to death last night in Ireland.

A man in his 20s, described as a Middle Eastern asylum seeker (applicant for international protection). He had been living in Ireland since mid-2024 at an IPAS (International Protection Accommodation Services) center in Killarney. He knew Carney personally and had occasionally stayed at her house.

Jamey Carney, 43, a mother of one (a 13-year-old daughter). She was born in New York, had lived in the Killarney area for about five years, and was known locally as a hard-working, engaged community member involved in Palestine support activities.

Her body was found in her bed at a home on Homeland Estate, Muckross Road, with serious head injuries. She had been beaten to death late Monday night/early Tuesday. Her daughter raised the alarm.
