On the Fourth of July, the world looks to Washington, D.C.
That is one of the great privileges of living and building here. This city is more than the seat of our government — it is a convening place for people, ideas, culture, sports, innovation, service, and history.
As America marks its 250th anniversary, I cannot think of a more meaningful place to celebrate than the nation’s capital. The monuments, the museums, the neighborhoods, the teams, the venues, the universities, the entrepreneurs, the visitors from across the country and around the world — all of it reminds us why Washington is one of the most important, powerful, and magnificent cities.
@MSE, we are proud to play a role in helping bring people together across this region. That includes supporting the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, which will bring @INDYCAR racing to the capital as part of this extraordinary national milestone.
D.C. is at its best when it gathers people together. This Fourth of July, we get to celebrate that on the biggest stage. @America250 | @Freedom250
Wishing everyone a safe and joyful Independence Day.
Alex is back.
From the day we drafted him, Ovi has played with unmatched passion, relentless drive, and an unwavering commitment to his teammates, our fans, and our city.
The greatest goal scorer in NHL history isn’t done writing his @Capitals story. Neither are we.
Let’s chase another Cup together. #ALLCAPS 🏒
.@Capitals, @WashWizards & @WashMystics fans: We need your help.
We have the best fans in the world, and your stories deserve to be part of Washington's sports history.
DC Public Library, in partnership with our friends at @cllctMedia and @darrenrovell, are creating a new exhibition, Hail to the Fans: The Spirit of DC Sports celebrating DC sports fandom, and they're looking for memories, photos, ticket stubs and memorabilia from fans across the DMV.
We @MSE are proud to partner with @dcpl on this exhibition, opening April 2027.

In 2018, I wrote about 6-year-old Keelan Moxley who, after several attempts from right winger Brett Connally, got a puck at the Capitals game.
Today, now 15, she came back with the puck to the @dcpl, who announced the call for fans to loan their items to its new fan exhibit.
Great to see the renovated John Wall Court at Randall Recreation Center reopen last week.
@JohnWall’s impact on the @WashWizards franchise and the DC community continues to be felt long after his playing days in DC.
Investing in spaces like this creates opportunities for young people and strengthens our neighborhoods. Looking forward to seeing the next generation put the court to good use.
So much love for this team.
The youngest team in the WNBA and one of the youngest in league history last night showed what heart, resilience, and belief look like.
Four overtimes. Never gave up. Never lost focus.
So much energy. So much emotional intelligence. An unforgettable game.
Huge credit to our players, coaching staff, and performance team for preparing this group to compete physically and mentally at the highest level.
Proud of the @WashMystics.
Congratulations to @De11eDonne on her induction into the @WBHOF.
A champion. A two-time MVP. A Hall of Famer. A transformational player for the @WashMystics and women's basketball.
Elena helped lead our franchise to its first @WNBA title and inspired countless athletes and fans along the way.
A well-deserved honor for one of the greatest athletes of all time.
The Capitals made four selections during the 2026 #NHLDraft in Buffalo. On Friday, the Capitals selected Oliver Suvanto (18th). During the second day, Washington selected Tyus Sparks (101st), Brian McFadden (144th) and Logan Stuart (208th). https://t.co/dQAZBYSjr3
Congratulations to the MacArthur High School Class of 2026! I was honored to speak at the commencement for these remarkable students earlier this month.
Speaking with these graduates reinforced something I’ve always believed: investing in young people is investing in the future of our city.
At @MSE, creating opportunities through education, mentorship and community partnerships remains one of our most important priorities.
The future of DC is bright – and it’s in great hands. 🎓👏
Some will keep talking about yesterday. We're focused on building tomorrow.
Around here, it's Jump Season—the time to get better through trades, free agency, and the draft. This week, the @WashWizards and @Capitals front offices took bold swings, building on years of preparation by scouts, analysts, coaches, and staff across our organization.
The people who know these teams best are right here in Washington—the fans who show up, ask tough questions, pay attention, and keep believing in this city and our teams.
Thank you for your support. You see the work. You understand the vision. I can't wait for everyone else to catch up.
What a great night for the @WashWizards and an important step forward for the future we are building.
I am so grateful to our basketball leadership, scouts, coaches, and staff for the work that goes into making these decisions.
Most of all, I am grateful to our fans. Your passion and belief in this team matter.
Excited to keep building in tonight’s second round.
Welcome to the @WashWizards, AJ Dybantsa!
What a moment for our fans, the entire DC community, our front office, our staff, AJ and his family, and for the future of Wizards basketball. AJ brings incredible talent to a young and deep core that is ready to win.
Wizards fans: the future is bright, and tonight is another big step forward. #DCFamily
Sonia Citron is the @WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week 🙌
New career-high in steals (5), tied career-high in rebounds (11), recorded the WNBA's first 15+ pt, 5+ reb/ 5+ ast/5+ steal stat line of the season (6/19), & helped lead the Mystics to a 3-game win streak on the road.
Soni had quite the week!
Tonight is an exciting night for the @WashWizards, our fans, and the city of Washington, D.C.
Tonight is about our belief – belief in development, belief in culture, and belief in the long-term plan built by Monumental Basketball leadership.
Tonight, our vision becomes real.
Excited for what’s ahead. Let’s go Wizards.
Ahead of tomorrow’s NBA Draft, go behind the curtain with the latest episode of The Wizards Way.
Players putting in the work. Staff obsessing over every detail. No shortcuts. No secrets.
Proud that this series is truly all-access—showing the foundation we're building for the next era of basketball in DC. 🔮🏀
