@winexviv Making digital technologies a core subject is a powerful step forward. I'm curious to see what the curriculum will include - hopefully it ensures every student is introduced to at least one programming language. In today’s world, that’s as essential as reading and maths.
@olumuyiwaayo@SamdGreat01 It’s easier if you can secure a visiting professor position with them. Though not paid position but it allows you to give back in whatever capacity you wish to.
@J_LuengoCabrera@ACLEDINFO@Mapbox This is great! Wondering what this will look like temporally. Also, maybe some causal inference methods could help tease out the causal effect.

Had an amazing week teaching at AIMS! The students were fantastic - engaged, curious, and asked some really thoughtful questions. Feeling grateful for the opportunity to give back to my continent. #AIMS#teaching#fulfillment 🌍📚
Computational Methods for #RandomEffect Models, by Johnson Olatunji, covered Laplace approximation, #MonteCarlo Maximum Likelihood & MCMC #algorithms for Bayesian inference, applied to spatial data. This was an opportunity to explore real-life #spatial disease data.

@GeostatsGuy@X Another issue arises when you believe you've conceived a fresh idea, but upon crafting it into a paper, you discover that someone else has already published something similar.
Still buzzing from the mind-blowing talks at the RSS conference's Recent Advances in Spatial and Spatiotemporal Modeling session! A huge shoutout to our phenomenal speakers @FinnLindgren, @eliaskrainski, and @flaxter for their enlightening insights. #RSS2023Conf#Spatial
