One thing living abroad opened my eyes to is how differently skills are valued 🇳🇬🇬🇧
In the UK, I worked as a Business Analyst in a major company. My boss, who managed the Business Intelligence team, only had secondary school qualifications 😭
Meanwhile, I had BSc, Master’s, chartered certifications and all the “paper qualifications” from Naija.
The difference? Abroad, they care
more about what you can actually do and the value you bring to the table.
He told me he started apprenticeship at 16.
At 16, I was still asking my mum for transport money to school 😅
Sometimes I really think our system prepares people more for exams than for real industry.
You see this particular post?? You must not understand, just reshare pls so it will get to the people who need it. You will be unconsciously saving a woman.
Nigerians please we need justice for Elozino Joshualia Ogege. My secondary school friend. She wasn’t just a classmate, she was my friend we sat together in school. She was a decent girl. Elo was not wayward.
They killed her Nigerians. They plucked her eyes while she was alive, breast and heart before she died.
She was a brilliant student, a first-class student from 100 level to 300 level at Delta State University Delsu.
She only went to look for a house to rent Nigerians😭
She told a security man working in DELSU, Onoriode (Onos), who had access to the school environment that she was looking for a house, he then told her he would help her get accommodation. That was how he lured her. Delsu claimed they are contract staff from a security company. Guess what? This security man is an Ex-convict.
He did not act alone.
He worked with other Yahoo boys including Desmond and their gang and with the help of a security supervisor identified as Nwosisi Benedict Uche. The mastermind was a Yahoo boy who came from Ghana, and got those Yahoo boys to look for a girl for ritual for him. He had 2 houses already in Abraka. Elo was not their first victim.
They planned it.
They waited for her inside the school environment, campus 3, overpowered her by putting something on her face and took her away.
They drove her out of Abraka into a bush.
According to their own confession, Elozino was crying and begging them to let her go even after they took her eyes alive she was still begging them. 😭
But they did not stop.
They killed her and removed parts of her body for ritual purposes to use for what they call “Yahoo Plus” money rituals.
They took those parts to a native doctor identified as Ojokojo Robinson Obajero, who they believed would perform money rituals for them.
The police tracked her phone and arrested them after the family reported she was missing because they couldn't reach her.
The Delta State Police PRO, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, confirmed that the suspects confessed and that the crime started as a missing person case before turning into a murder investigation.
Even the Commissioner of Police at the time, Muhammad Mustafa, confirmed arrests and said they were ritual killers.
One of the masterminds even died while trying to escape arrest.
But since 2018… what has happened? Elon have had no justice since 2018.
The case has been in court. Adjournment after adjournment.
Delay after delay. Years have passed. No clear justice. Are they bringing the judge?
My friend left her house to look for accommodation and never came back.
She trusted the wrong person a security man inside her own school. Delsu refused to show concern for their negligence. How can you employ an Ex-convict? Why would a security company employ an Ex-convict?
Elo is gone we know but we want justice. And till today, it feels like justice is still being delayed.
Nigerians, how long will this continue? How long will young girls keep dying like this? How long will cases like this be forgotten?
Please speak up. Please don’t let this case die. Please people I'm begging y'all to help us speak. They already confessed to doing it. They should have been sentenced to death already. All the people involved.
Help us cry for justice @Hybrid_Ola@_meera__abdul@AdageorgeA@oku_yungx@Austeiin@lilyally98@instablog9ja

Many graduate students are one email away from an opportunity. They just do not know how to write it.
Smart students lose opportunities every day.
Because their emails are:
↳ too vague
↳ too long
↳ too generic
↳ too easy to ignore
Here are 5 emails every graduate student should know how to write.
1️⃣ The email to a professor
This email can open the door to:
↳ supervision
↳ mentorship
↳ research opportunities
↳ future collaboration
But many students get it wrong.
A strong email should:
↳ introduce you clearly
↳ mention the professor’s actual work
↳ explain why you are reaching out
↳ Get to the point quickly
Professors read a lot of emails.
Clear beats clever.
2️⃣ The networking email
Many students wait until they “need something” before reaching out.
That is usually too late.
A good networking email can help you:
↳ build relationships in your field
↳ learn from people ahead of you
↳ hear about opportunities early
Keep it simple:
↳ who you are
↳ How did you find them
↳ Why are you reaching out
People respond to thoughtful messages.
Not copy-paste ones.
3️⃣ The recommendation letter request
This is one of the most important emails in academia.
And many students leave it too late.
A better approach:
↳ ask early
↳ Share your CV
↳ include your deadline
↳ remind them of the work you did together
↳ make it easy for them to say yes
A strong recommendation letter rarely comes from a rushed email.
4️⃣ The follow-up email
Many students send one message and stop there.
Big mistake.
Sometimes people are busy.
Sometimes they forget.
Sometimes your first email gets buried.
A good follow-up should be:
↳ polite
↳ short
↳ respectful
↳ direct
Following up well can revive an opportunity that looked lost.
5️⃣ The thank-you email
This one is small.
But it matters a lot.
After someone helps you, advises you, meets with you, or writes for you, say thank you.
Not because it is formal.
Because it shows respect.
And in academic spaces, people remember that.
——-
Grad school emphasizes technical skills
But these small communication skills often shape what comes next.
↳ The mentor you meet
↳ The lab you join
↳ The scholarship you win
↳ the doors that open
♻️ Repost to help a graduate student who needs this.
“No point buying a closing down Church - nobody wants to go to them anyway….” 🤡
Yes, many churches are closing down, but often not because people don't want to go.
It's because they can't afford to keep them open.
I’ve had hundreds of messages from Churches in this position.
So, what I will do is rent my Church out for free to a Church.
I’ll also allow homeless outreach projects to operate there so they can have a greater impact on the community.
Plus, statistics show a revival is beginning among the younger generation here in the UK.
I just believe there's so much good that churches do. Seeing them get closed down and replaced with developments doesn't feel right - a beautiful church building deserves better.
After @fattyyyronkeee’s viral post about the three sisters who volunteered to clean a mosque after school hour, I promised to give them N100K cash and a Fire HD tablet as a “Thank You” for their selfless act.
Last Friday, I spoke with the Muslim girls and their Christian mother to fulfil my promise. When I asked how they would prefer to receive the gifts, I inadvertently opened a chapter of a touching story impacting their daily life.
I was not feeling comfortable sending money through a third party (a POS operator they barely knew). I asked for the mother’s bank details to send the cash, only to discover she had never opened a bank account despite being in her 40s.
Besides, she had no phone; only had a SIM card. I spoke to them through @fattyyyronkeee’s mobile phone. So, how would I get the cash and the tablet to Odomola in Epe, Lagos State, where they live?
I was stumped.
There’s no dispatch rider who would pick up items in Lagos Mainland and deliver in Epe, a faraway town.
I thought the best option was to physically hand the gifts to them. So midday Saturday, I drove down to Epe to meet these lovely girls and their mother.
Then, I learned about their life struggles.
The mother, an Egun from Badagry, became an orphan before she was 10. After her mother passed during childbirth, she was raised by her uncle. Her father died a few years later. She has no formal education or vocational skills; she only earns a living by helping fishermen in Epe prepare their catch for sale. For a full day, she earns N2,000.
Her husband? She said the man, a fisherman and an Epe indigene, had abandoned them. He only visits occasionally, according to her. She alone has to bear the difficult job of catering for her daughters, who live with her in her husband’s family house.
The eldest girl, Habibat, a 16-year-old, is in JSS 3 at Odomola Community High School. After school, she used to resume at a beauty and confectionery shop where she’s learning catering, hairdressing and makeup. However, after seven months of free learning, she was stopped from going when her master demanded a N50,000 agreement fee, which her mother couldn’t afford.
Despite their situation, their mother said she never considered withdrawing them from school. The other two girls — Fatimah and Lateefat; both are in JSS 2 and Primary 4.
Right there, we contacted Habibat’s master, Mrs. Omoyele, and asked for her account details to pay the agreement fee.
Done. Habibat will resume her vocational training tomorrow (Monday).
Since the money and gift were meant for the girls, I asked their mother what kind of support she needed. She said she would love to start her own fish business if she got N100,000 starting capital.
I gave her a new mobile phone and N300,000 in cash, half of which was donated by the Special Adviser on SGDs to Lagos State Governor, Dr. @Oreoluwa_Finnih, plus money received earlier from people who read @fattyyyronkeee’s post.
Dr. Finnih also promised to provide further empowerment for the mother in whatever craft or business she chooses.
Other people, who read the post, have also pledged to send money to the girls.
I instructed the mother to open a proper bank account with Access Bank, which is the closest bank to them. However, she will need to first register for a NIN before opening the account. So, this might take a few days.
In the meantime, we have a trusted POS operator who can collect the money pledged on their behalf and give them the cash.
@fattyyyronkeee will share the account details under this post for anyone who wishes to support them. Receipts of money sent need to be shared with @fattyyyronkeee via DM for accountability and reconciliation with the POS operator.
I'm buying a church.
I’ve made a cash offer of £225,000 to purchase this church, which was about to close and be sold off to developers.
I'm fed up with driving past all these churches in the UK that used to thrive, support the community, and feed the homeless.
Now, just look at these beautiful church buildings.
So many are boarded up, closed down, with developers queueing up to profit from converting them into flats.
I simply can't accept that a building built to glorify Jesus for generations can be turned into something solely for profit.
So I've placed an offer on a church in my hometown.
My plan is to buy it and offer it completely free of charge, with zero rent, to a church willing to worship Jesus here and serve others.
What do you think of this idea?
In 2022, we screened 59 women for cervical cancer. We found 8 with precancerous changes and treated them for free. That was 8 lives saved.
By 2024, we pushed harder and screened 300+ women and intercepted 12 more cases before it was too late.
These women were walking around, living their normal lives, completely unaware of the silent killer growing inside them.
From Friday, Feb 20th to Sunday, 22nd, the @AD__Foundation is heading to Abuja to screen 1,000 women. Free screening o.
But to hit this number, we need YOU our community. If you want to help us save hundreds of women before they happen, please support us:

Some years ago, I was in Usman Danfodio University about to start a pre-degree program.
The problem was, I did not have any accommodation. As at the time I arrived in the school, the hall that was given to predegree students in the female hostel for medical students was packed.
I remember walking to some Hausa girls to ask if I could squat anywhere and they just looked at me like an alien
I can never forget that day
I was having the worst cramps of my life.
I stood there just dazed and confused.
I looked for a bench somewhere and just sat.
I looked to heaven and whispered with all the strength I could muster “Lord, help me. Show me mercy”
I just sat there staring.
A lady walked past me and entered one of the rooms. A few minutes later she walked out again.
She looked and me and said “why are you sitting here alone”?
I didn’t know her from Adam
I told her I was a predegree student and I had no where to stay.
She said ok and went back into her room.
She came out again and said “go and bring your things”
Just like that. No questions. She didn’t know me.
I remember going to a corner and crying so hard my entire body shook because I simply couldn’t believe what just happened.
And she took me into the main student room that had fans and refrigerators.
I stayed there comfortably for one whole year.
Till today, anytime I’m stranded, I remember Sokoto, I remember how that Jehovah whispered to a stranger to help His daughter and my faith is strengthened
PS: I pray for that lady till today, may she never be stranded in life.
Amen!
