I want Elon Musk to give Mel Gibson $100 million to film an Odyssey adaptation with painstakingly historically accurate ships, armour, weapons, and casting, with all dialogue taken straight from the original poem and delivered in Homeric Greek.
People severely underestimate the risks when it comes to building a business.
Building a business is dangerous for a few reasons.
When you invest in say stocks or crypto or whatever you can’t really go negative. You put in 100$, you lose 100$. Then you move on.
But with businesses there is a huge mental investment and the ability to go negative, many time you have to pay out of pocket for inventory, pay roll, insurance ect and that can be net negative cash flow for that month or years. Not to mention the time and mental load of managing the business, you can be “on the hook” for years.
This makes “building” actually more risky than just investing.
So in crypto this cost is lower but still there, you still usually have to pay and manage a team, so it’s fragile, because most of the best builders are already rich (from the bull market) so when they get attacked or aren’t supported they generally just go do something else.
