@Smokeswolf1000@bad_schooler I’m a media literacy guy not a comics guy that’s my shtick. Yeah fuck it gimme the list why not, we’ve been here for a minute anyways so whatever sure why the hell not
@Smokeswolf1000@bad_schooler “Smokeswolf1000” who joined last month and only talks about comics and wanting Batman to kill is 30? Sure man. I don’t care about DC or Marvel or any of these brands, I just care about good stories. Something that’ll actually be remembered 10, 20, 50, or 100 years from now.
@Smokeswolf1000@bad_schooler When you get a little older it’ll click more. Just give it time like anything else, life isn’t so black and white believe me
@Smokeswolf1000@bad_schooler Listen, just think less about the material plot points of the story and more about the broader thematic messaging of the story. Good art is complex and divisive. Engaging and understanding art isn’t easy so just try. Maybe you don’t agree with it but the goal is understanding it
@Smokeswolf1000@bad_schooler The interesting part of no kill rules IS that their choice not to kill IS selfish and unheroic, it’s them failing in their jobs and their purpose. Thats the texture. It shows us something about them, something that is hypocritical and irrational. It’s human
@Smokeswolf1000@bad_schooler I think you’re confusing violence for “real” stories. A real story is something relatable like struggles and failure but murder is not relatable. Strict no kill rules allow for more interesting stories because it doesn’t just focus on violence, it focuses on regular issues
@Smokeswolf1000@bad_schooler This sort of flagrant comic book silliness was what the early golden age comic era was. Modern day readers wanted more from their stories and that’s when actual ideals and morals were applied to these characters by the authors. This texture is not for DC, it’s for the art itself
@MyNameIsByf Have you thought about where you might go next? Not many games have lore like Destiny but I think the LoL or Warframe communities would appreciate you a lot, even if it might not be as popular
@spamminn_tingzz@FanAkko@ultim8zillenial But the problem is the people posting about “marvel heroes when it’s not their movie” while looking at the new spiderman film and see Hulk, Punisher, Yelena, and Jean Grey and say: not enough. This nitpick-based reviewing is so exhausting! Cameos are cheap and a good story isn’t
