यह 2001 से लेकर अब तक नेताजी के गायब होने से जुड़े विवाद का एक ओवरव्यू है। यह एक लंबी पोस्ट है लेकिन आज के समय में बहुत ज़रूरी है, इसलिए इसे आराम से और ध्यान से पढ़ें।

1. 25 साल पहले, जब मुखर्जी कमीशन की जांच चल रही थी, तो ज़्यादातर पढ़े-लिखे लोग नेताजी के गायब होने के मामले को महज़ एक 'साज़िश की थ्योरी' (conspiracy theory) मानते थे। खासकर तथाकथित 'गुमनामी बाबा' से जुड़ा मामला तो पूरी तरह से गायब हो गया था। किसी को भी इसके बारे में कुछ पता नहीं था, खासकर बंगाल में। गुमनामी बाबा के मानने वालों ने तो अपनी पत्नी और बच्चों से भी बातें छिपाकर रखी थीं, दूसरों की तो बात ही छोड़िए।

2. 2001 में 'हिंद���स्तान टाइम्स' के लिए मेरी जांच के बाद हालात बदलने लगे। दुनिया भर के लोगों को इस पूरे विवाद के बारे में पता चला, जिसमें प्लेन क्रैश की थ्योरी, रूस वाला एंगल और गुमनामी बाबा की थ्योरी शामिल थी।

3. समय के साथ, मैं��े प्लेन क्रैश की थ्योरी को गलत साबित करने में अहम भूमिका निभाई - जिसे आज बहुत से लोग सच मान लेते हैं। अगर मुखर्जी कमीशन ने प्लेन क्रैश की थ्योरी को मान लिया होता, तो आज किसी के पास कोई बात कहने या चर्चा करने के लिए कुछ नहीं बचता। भारत सरकार ने तय कर लिया था कि कमीशन को ताइवान नहीं जाने दिया जाएगा, जहाँ मुख्य सबूत मौजूद थे। मैंने ताइवान सरकार से संपर्क किया और उनके और कमीशन के बीच सीधी बातचीत करवा��। आखिरकार, जस्टिस मुखर्जी ताइवान गए, वहाँ के अधिकारियों से संपर्क किया और नेताजी की मौत की प्लेन क्रैश वाली थ्योरी को गलत साबित करने वाला सबसे अहम सबूत हासिल किया।

4. गुमनामी बाबा के मानने वालों और भारत सरकार के सहयोग न करने और तथ्यों को छिपाने की वजह से, मुखर्जी कमीशन यह साबित नहीं कर पाया कि वही नेताजी थे। सरकार ने हैंडराइटिंग/DNA की ऐसी रिपोर्टें दीं जिनसे कुछ गवाहों के ज़ुबानी बयानों को गल�� साबित किया गया - ��नमें से कुछ गवाह मेरी वजह से ही सामने आए थे।

5. हैंडराइटिंग/DNA की इन नेगेटिव रिपोर्टों की वजह से, ज़्यादातर पढ़े-लिखे लोगों के लिए इस ज़ुबानी दावे का कोई मतलब नहीं रह गया कि गुमनामी बाबा ही नेताजी थे। गुमनामी बाबा के हाथ से लिखे पत्र दशकों तक उनके मानने वालों और दूसरे लोगों के पास रहे, लेकिन उनमें से किसी में भी इतनी हिम्मत या साधन नहीं थे कि वे किसी हैंडराइटिंग एक्सपर्ट से उनकी जांच करवा सकें। ���ैं ही था जिसने स्वर्गीय बी. लाल कपूर से संपर्क किया और उन्हें उनकी (दस्तावेज़ों की) जांच करने और HT को लिखित रिपोर्ट देने के लिए मनाया। बी. लाल कपूर सरकार के पूर्व वरिष्ठ अधिकारी और शायद भारत के सबसे बड़े हैंडराइटिंग एक्सपर्ट थे। अपनी प्रतिष्ठा दांव पर लगाकर, कपूर ने लिखित राय दी कि हैंडराइटिंग नेताजी की हैंडराइटिंग से मेल खाती थी।

6. इसके बाद मुखर्जी कमीशन ने लाल को काम पर रखा और उन्होंने एक बहुत विस्तृत सकारात्मक रिपोर्ट दी। अगर ऐसा नहीं हुआ होता, तो गुमनामी बाबा का मामला लगभग खत्म हो गया होता क्योंकि कमीशन को कें���्र और बंगाल राज्य सरकारों से दो नकारात्मक रिपोर्ट मिली थीं। कई एक्टिविस्ट और रिसर्चर इसे भूल गए हैं, लेकिन आपको नहीं भूलना चाहिए। लाल को इस मामले में कौन लाया? अनुज धर। ताइवान से जुड़ी अहम जानकारी (ब्रेकथ्रू) किसने संभव बनाई? अनुज धर। उन दिनों, जस्टिस मुखर्जी ने मेरी तारीफ़ में एक बात कही थी। उन्होंने कमीशन के एक कर्मचारी से कहा, "वह हमारा काम कर रहे हैं।" सालों बाद, उन्होंने मुझे बताया कि जब भ��� कोई नेताजी मामले के बारे में पूछता, तो वे मेरी किताब की सिफारिश करते थे।

7. इसके बाद मैंने मीडिया में कई कहानियों को प्रेरित करने में मदद की ताकि यह मुद्दा खत्म न हो जाए। मैं कई महत्वपूर्ण लोगों से भी मिला जिन्होंने खुले तौर पर और पर्दे के पीछे से इस मामले को आगे बढ़ाया। इन सबने इस मुद्दे को जीवित रखा। याद रखें, यह बहुत पहले की बात है जब लोगों ��ें इसके बारे में बहुत कम जागरूकता थी।

8. 2005 में 'मिशन नेताजी' का गठन किया गया। तब तक कांग्रेस सत्ता में वापस आ चुकी थी। हम (श्रीजीत पणिक्कर, विशाल शर्मा, सायंतन दासगुप्ता, चंद्रचूर घोष) जानते थे कि कमीशन की रिपोर्ट खारिज कर दी जाएगी। नए जोश के साथ, हमने मुख्यधारा और नए सोशल मीडिया, दोनों में इस मुद्दे को उठाना शुरू किया। हमने इस मामले के लिए समर्पित पहली वेबसाइट शुरू की।

9. चंद्रचूर को यह विचार आय��� कि हमें मामले को फिर से शुरू करने के लिए RTI का इस्तेमाल करना चाहिए। सायंतन द्वारा दायर हमारी पहली ही अर्ज़ी बहुत सफल रही। लेकिन इसमें गृह मंत्रालय के साथ सालों तक बातचीत करनी पड़ी। हम सेंट्रल इन्फॉर्मेशन कमीशन (CIC) के दफ़्तर में घंटों बिताते थे। आखिरकार, डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह के नेतृत्व वाली केंद्र सरकार को एक हज़ार से ज़्यादा फ़ाइलें सार्वजनिक करने के लिए मजबूर होना पड़ा। मैं दोहराता हूँ -- एक हज़ार से ज़्यादा फ़ाइलें। हमने विदेशी संगठनों से भी रिकॉर्ड/जानकारी हासिल की, जिसमें अमेरिका की सेंट्रल इंटेलिजेंस एजेंसी (CIA) भी शामिल थी। हाँ, आप बिल्कुल सही पढ़ रहे हैं।

10. डॉ. सिंह की सरकार द्वारा जारी की गई फाइलें 2014 में नेशनल आर्काइव्स पहुँचीं। उनमें मुझे जासूसी से जुड़ी फाइलें मिलीं। फिर, हम यह मामला मीडिय��� के सामने ले गए।

11. इस समय तक, हम नेताजी के परिवार के सदस्यों को अपने साथ लाने और फाइलों को सार्वजनिक करने की माँग का समर्थन हासिल करने में कामयाब हो गए थे। हमारी कोशिशों - जिनमें प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस और सार्वजनिक मार्च शामिल थे - की वजह से हालात बदलने लगे थे, खासकर बंगाल में। कोलकाता में फाइलों को सार्वजनिक करने की माँग के लिए पहला सार्वजनिक मार्च मेरे नाम से निकाला गया था। हमने देश और विदेश में ल���गों को तथ्यों से अवगत कराने के लिए बहुत कुछ किया। चंद्रचूड़ ने भारतीय उच्चाय���ग के बाहर पर्चे बाँटे।

To understand why medicine is so complex, let's make a crude simplifying assumption that there are only 100 biomarkers that are important (in reality there are vastly more). Let's also crudely assume each market is allowed only two values. That gives us 2^100 possibilities, which is about 10^30. That is vastly more than humans that ever lived. And this is with the extremely over-simplified model. We face a practical infinity of possibilities.

In reality, no two patients are ever really alike. No statistical model can give you very high confidence on how to treat. That is why AI can never treat patients, because human doctors exercise something called "clinical judgment".

That judgment is what enables a doctor to tell us "this is not a serious issue, get good sleep" vs "this definitely needs deeper investigation". That judgment is hard. Often they cannot even explain why they arrived at this but great doctors have that intuition. The entire Big Medicine is about systematically dismantling clinical judgment and convert doctors to mere "protocol pushers". Great doctors resist this.

Now on top of the measurable biomarkers, there is the unmeasurable factor called "mental state". Every good doctor knows a positive mental state in a patient leads to far better clinical outcomes. That is why good doctors practise compassionate medicine, not just numbers based medicine. I know an outstanding skin doctor in Chennai who prescribed me medicine for my very-itchy Eczema that I had endured for months, and he also told me "try to avoid stress and it may go away, and you may not even need the medicines I prescribed". I consciously reduced my stress level and the problem went away without medicine. That is a truly great doctor.

What does it have to do with autism-vaccine connection? As my crude numerical analysis showed, we have the problem of N=1 way too often in medicine and that is even more true for autism where each kid is truly unique, and that is why statistics are mostly useless and clinical judgment is mostly all we have. We cannot have broad sweeping mandates, definitely not broad vaccine mandates. Each doctor has to exercise their judgment with their patient. And they have to listen to the patient concerns first.

What Big Medicine is about is to try to reduce medicine to be a pure statistical science and it is not. Conditions like autism do not fit that paradigm at all.

That is the battle here. At its core it is not just an autism battle, it is a philosophy of medicine battle.

I pledge to keep fighting this fight because I nearly wanted to commit suicide at one one point in my life. Just this morning, a depressed parent approached me for advice and that started my X thread today.

I urge intelligent doctors to debate this philosophy of medicine issue. I will not respond to the arrogant "stay in your lane" types.

I have met Professors of Immunology in reputed medical schools in the US who _15 years ago_ had serious reservations on the aggressive vaccine schedule but would tell you it was suicidal for them to speak up.

A lot of doctors _in private_ would concur but given how much attack someone like me gets on this topic, they stay silent (I don't care about being attacked, I have been vaccinated (!) against personal attacks on me!).

So I speak up also to give a voice to those _doctors_ who prefer to remain silent.

We may need an org in India to give support to them so they can come out.

Meanwhile do not be misled by "he is not a doctor, he has no right to talk about it". I do have the absolute right and I am a reasonably informed layman.

This whole "stay in your lane" is arrogance and credentialism and I do not respect people who use that line. They are unlikely to be any good in their fields.

I will not delete my post. I stand by what I said. The term "Dodgy western source" should be applied to FDA and CDC recommendations, by the way. Those institutions do not deserve blind faith. The brave doctors who are questioning the dogma are doing a valuable service.

Science progresses only when we question dogma and what you are peddling is dogma, in the name of "Science".

There are millions of parents like this. Pay attention to their voices.

All manner of auto-immune diseases have skyrocketed and vaccines directly program the immune system. It is very reasonable and very scientific to ask about unintended side effects.

Here is a medical textbook titled "Vaccines and Autoimmunity" by reputed doctor scientists (link in comment).

Mainstream medicine did not even know about probiotics, gut-brain connection and the immune system until fairly recently (and now we have fecal pills to boost our gut flora).

Gastroenterology, neurology and immunology are even now treated as separate specialties. Many mainstream doctors are simply unaware of these connections, and the most arrogant ones tend to be the most dogmatic.

The way the vaccine debate has been shut down, suppressed, and the doctors who questioned the dogma professionally tormented, should give us pause.

This is not a political issue. Regardless of your political persuasion, if you have children, investigate. Listen to these parental voices.

So you admit there are "public health _trade-offs". What exactly are we trading off here? What exactly are the risks? Why is asking that question 'unscientific"?

And elementary probability will show that even if the risk with each shot is low, when you have so many, the cumulative risk can be non-negligible, even ignoring the interaction effects.

Finally do you trust in Big Pharma? Do you really?

Do you believe there is any limit to the number of vaccines or can we keep adding to the schedule? Are 56 or 72 shots reasonable?

Even if a single shot is individually safe, can a combination and accumulation of effects cause harm, particularly to young babies with immature immune systems?

And is the whole vaccine-autoimmune connection false?

Please debate them openly.

Please cultivate an open curious mind doctor - professional arrogance arising from your institutional pedigree is completely unbecoming of a scientist.

Your kind of hyper-specialization is itself a serious crisis in medicine today.
