@nytimes@cnnbrk@RiseAboveWithK Kevin, Cannabis is considered a gateway per the "The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM–5). See comment under Comorbidity. (This is the handbook used by health care professionals in the United States and much of the world as the authoritative guide to the diagnosis of mental disorders. DSM contains descriptions, symptoms and other criteria for diagnosing mental disorders)
@RiseAboveWithK@nytimes@cnnbrk Here are two studies that indicate cannabis, tobacco and alcohol use all lead to the use of other substances. 1) Alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana consumption is associated with increased odds of same-day substance co- and tri-use Results:
The present study was the first to examine event-level, daily patterns of co-use of marijuana, alcohol, and cigarettes in a sample of non-treatment seeking individuals. Alcohol consumption was associated with increased odds of same-day cigarette or marijuana co-use. Similarly, any cigarette smoking increased the probability of same-day alcohol or marijuana co-use, and marijuana use also increased the odds of same-day alcohol or cigarette co-use.

2) Associations of alcohol use disorder, cannabis use disorder, and nicotine dependence with concurrent opioid use disorder in U.S. adults
Compared to individuals with no substance use disorder (SUD), individuals with CUD had 6.69 times the odds of experiencing OUD. Individuals with AUD, CUD and nicotine dependence had 47.31 times the odds of having OUD compared to individuals with no SUD"
Compared to individuals with no substance use disorder (SUD), individuals with AUD had 5.24 times the odds (95% CI [4.25, 6.46]), individuals with CUD had 6.69 times the odds (95% CI [5.13, 8.72]), and individuals with nicotine dependence had 7.12 times the odds of experiencing OUD (95% CI [6.10, 8.32]). Individuals with either AUD and CUD or AUD and nicotine dependence had approximately 15 times the odds of having OUD than those with no SUD (95% CI [12.58, 19.53] and 95% CI [11.63, 18.19], respectively). Individuals with CUD and nicotine dependence had 27.35 times the odds of having OUD than those with no SUD (95% CI [21.88, 34.19]).

@KevinSabet@vantagehemp@AlexBerenson@nytimes@Cernovich@DrMarcSiegel@JeromeAdamsMD Blanketly claiming hemp or any plant is safe and effective medicine in its natural form ignores reality. "Yes for centuries, people chewed on willow bark to relieve pain and reduce fever. However, the raw, natural active ingredients were incredibly harsh on the stomach, often causing severe gastrointestinal bleeding. To solve this, scientists modified the compound into a new, lab-engineered structure. Today, nearly all commercial aspirin is manufactured synthetically using raw materials (like benzene derived from petroleum). Extracting salicin directly from trees is inefficient and unnecessary given the precision and low cost of modern chemical manufacturing."
📢 "The indigenous people in this country chewed on the bark of a willow tree...and aspirin does amazing things. The idea that the hemp plant can't have any value is a crazy idea."

@GiuseppediCiro@MarijuanaMoment Provide the documentation where it states what you say here. "5FA was designed for single chemical substances not complex botanical materials that contains hundreds of active compounds" The heroin plant-opium poppy has over 80 natural chemical substances.
The Obama Admin disagreed with that. DEA Rejects Attempt To Loosen Federal Restrictions On Marijuana
August 10, 2016 The Obama administration has denied a bid by two Democratic governors to reconsider how it treats marijuana under federal drug control laws, keeping the drug for now, at least, in the most restrictive category for U.S. law enforcement purposes.
Drug Enforcement Administration chief Chuck Rosenberg says the decision is rooted in science. Rosenberg gave "enormous weight" to conclusions by the Food and Drug Administration that marijuana has "no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States," and by some measures, it remains highly vulnerable to abuse as the most commonly used illicit drug across the nation. https://t.co/VbYJ767RIw
@nytimes@AlexBerenson@FoxNews@DonaldJTrumpJr@BarronTNews_@TheFive@IngrahamAngle@AnnCoulter@SecKennedy Kim Rivers is a public health threat. See all the health issues from weed below. This is a repeat of the tobacco health disaster or worse. For a couple million in lobby money from her, Trump has sold out the health of Americans. "Evidence shows a clear association between cannabis use and psychosis, affective disorders, anxiety, sleep disorders, cognitive failures, respiratory adverse events, cancer, cardiovascular outcomes, and gastrointestinal disorders. Moreover, cannabis use is a risk factor for motor vehicle collision, suicidal behavior and partner and child violence. Cannabis use is a risk factor for several medical conditions and negative social consequences.

@GiuseppediCiro@MarijuanaMoment They can "reinterpret" to make it fit when they have already determined the outcome before the reseach was done. In other words, factual and science based information were not a priority for the HHS document.
Big Tobacco is one of the most significant investors in the cannabis industry "For decades, the tobacco industry engaged in a coordinated campaign to deliberately deceive the public and distort scientific evidence regarding the deadly risks of smoking. Internal documents and legal rulings exposed the true extent of their deception......"
@NorCalRoe78@vizurantvis Carving and other cannabis advocates will not admit "0" deaths from cannabis is false even though they know there are deaths from weed.....denial/deception just like Big Tobacco.
This points out the flaws in the Biden admin document. See second page. The FDA for decades has relied on a five-factor analysis to determine whether a drug has a currently accepted medical use,the Biden document used an unprecedented two-part test to arrive at its foregone conclusion for marijuana. In short, the agency argued that marijuana has a currently accepted medical use because some doctors prescribe it to patients through state-level medical marijuana programs. No proof that it is safe and effective for the claimed uses was given. The recommendation did not sufficiently examine the effect of daily marijuana use, a key indicator of addiction.
@cnnbrk@SenatorLankford@SenRonJohnson@Gop@indgop@DanaPerino@CBSNews@PAGOP Carvings post below is typical cannabis advocate deception. Carving quotes tobacco death numbers then states no OD deaths from cannabis. He fails to mention there are no tobacco OD deaths. Cannabis has the same health concerns as tobacco plus more...... heart disease, cancer, lung heath, affective disorders, anxiety, sleep disorders, cognitive failures, respiratory adverse events, cancer, cardiovascular outcomes, and gastrointestinal disorders. Moreover, cannabis use is a risk factor for motor vehicle collision, suicidal behavior and partner and child violence
@carvincannabis@NorCalRoe78@smokevapeutah@vizurantvis Carving, you are avoiding most obvious and relevent comparison to cannabis use, tobacco consumption. Both are smoked. Both produce smoke with numerous toxins and carcinogens.
Carving, total denial by you. Asthma deaths are caused by smoking not by drinkng alcohol. "Bob Marley's Grandson's Cause of Death Finally Confirmed
The 31-year-old musician suddenly passed away in December 2022.
“An acute asthma exacerbation due to viral illness is a common occurrence and considered a non-allergic event,” the report states. “Additionally, chronic smoking of combustible products such as tobacco or marijuana is dangerous in a person with asthma.”

Explain why you ignore deaths from cannabis that are the sames as those included in alcohol death numbers. Cannabis violence. 1) No prison time for Bryn Spejcher, convicted in cannabis-induced kill
After a jury found her guilty in December of involuntary manslaughter in a killing triggered by cannabis psychosis, Bryn Spejcher was sentenced Tuesday to two years probation and no prison time
https://t.co/xsUh1qgI2Q 2) A Review of Cases of Marijuana and Violence
Read case studies under 2. Case Presentation
1. Marijuana use causes violent behavior through increased aggressiveness, paranoia, and personality changes (more suspicious, aggressive, and anger).
2. Recent illicit and “medical marijuana” (especially grown by care givers for medical marijuana) is of much high potency and more likely to cause violent behavior.
3. Marijuana use and its adverse effects should be considered in cases of acts of violence as its role is properly assigned to its high association.
4. Recognize that high potency marijuana is a predictable and preventable cause of tragic violent consequences.
