Reception class have had lots of autumn fun with winter walks and pumpkin discoveries this week, learning lots about nature and why seasons happen.

In assembly yesterday, we announced the winners of the Year 6 'Come Dine Me'.
The winning menu was: red pepper salsa to start, followed by salmon and cream cheese sushi. Dessert was a pineapple upside cake.

It was Dessert Week in the final of Year 6 does 'Come Dine with Me' with the hero ingredient being Pineapple.
We had quite the selection this week with pupils choosing to make: Lemon and Pineapple Crush, Pineapple Cheesecake and Pineapple Upside Down Cake.

Our team took part in the Medway Mini Youth Games Hockey tournament today.
It's been a drizzly day but they haven't complained once about the weather, all we have had is constant smiles from all of our players.

In Science, Year 6 have been designing an experiment to test lung capacity. They had to take one deep breath blowing into a balloon and then measure the circumference.

It was round two of Year 6 does 'Come Dine with Me' last week with the focus being main meals.
Pupils were given the main ingredient of salmon and the recipes they came up with were: sticky salmon stir fry and smoked salmon and cream cheese sushi.

The nursery children had some fun with magnets, checking which materials were magnetic or not.
They enjoyed listening to the story of 'We're going on a Bear Hunt' and created their own binoculars and then decorated them. They then tried to spy a bear in the outside area.
Earlier this week, Early Years invited a member of the local ambulance services into class to explain their vital role in our community.
They learned about types of vehicles used and had some hands on experience of uniform and kit worn by the ambulance crews.

Some of the children had a great time in our after school Creative Club on Wednesday.
They have started thinking ahead to the end of this month and made some fantastic pumpkins!

Year 4 have been studying Bike Boy this term, the children brought in their own teddies and toys from home last week and discussed what ‘comfort objects’ are used for and how they change at different stages of a person’s life.

Year 5 have continued exploring bridges; this week they have made truss bridges out of spaghetti and improved their collaboration skills.

Some pupils from Year 3 and 4 attended a Tri-golf event earlier today at The Howard School.
They had a fantastic time trying out some golf skills

Welcome to Year 6 'Come Dine with Me'.
The pupils made their starter which had to include pepper. We had peppers stuffed with mozzarella and pepperoni and a roasted red pepper salsa.
The children then scored the meals on appearance, taste and the use of the key ingredient.

Reception class discussed and explored different feelings last week and reading "The Colour Monster," they designed their own "Colour Monsters" and made emotion masks.

One of our Year 3 pupils recently won a competition to win a football training session with some of the top coaches in the country! Here she is meeting England Captain and Arsenal player Leah Williamson who told Esme to “dream big!”

Year 3 finished last term by interviewing each other to find out about their friends and then created posters to show their friends incredible talents which we have made into a classroom display showcasing our work to replicate our book 'Incredible You'.

Our school library has had a transformation over the summer and the scanning system is now up and running.
From next week the library will be open after school 2 days a week for children to visit and swap their books.

Our students planted a variety of veggies, and now they've reaped the rewards: The experience of planting, nurturing and harvesting these vegetables has taught our students valuable lessons about responsibility, patience, and the importance of sustainable practices.
