Clemson @ LSU Preview and Prediction
A battle of the Death Valleys, and this one takes place down in Louisiana. It’s hard to ignore all the off-field drama that’s taking place surrounding LSU, but at kickoff, all of that gets pushed aside.
Clemson, a big disappointment in the 2025 season looks to revamp and turn the page here in 2026. QB Christopher Vizzina earned the spot out of fall camp and while he has a very talented WR room, he has to do his part and make the plays. Unfortunately for Vizzina, the OL for Clemson this season is a question mark and taking on a gritty LSU DL in week 1 is certainly a task. Defensively, a lot of change has taken place with the roster especially both DL and the secondary.
Sam Leavitt, the new sheriff in town for LSU running the QB position, is a dual-threat option. A huge receiver room and a lot of talent on the OL, Sam Levitt could be set up to have a big day. The run game for LSU is the deciding factor for me. A lot of improvement to be made from last year’s run offense, but with Leavitt and his ability to run along with transfer Dilin Jones, there is a world in which they figure that out in week 1.
🚨Prediction🚨
A game where Dabo needs momentum for an important season, and a game where Kiffin wants to get started at LSU on a good note. Similar to previous Ole Miss teams coached by Kiffin, I see Sam Leavitt finding rhythm, putting pressure on Clemson’s secondary, and having a big offensive day. I also think the run game LSU can open up more opportunities for Leavitt with his legs and down field throws. I also don’t think Vizzina will be enough for Clemson to keep up with LSU, and ultimately giving the LSU Tigers a big week 1 win at home
LSU -10⭐️
Miami @ Stanford Preview and Prediction
The National Championship Runner-ups, Miami Hurricanes, pack their bags and head across the country to take on the 1-0 Stanford Cardinals. Stanford, coming off a Week 0 win versus Hawaii, already has some offseason rust knocked off as they get back to back home games to open the year.
Starting with the Cardinals, we’ve already seen how balanced their offense seems to be early in the season. Davis Warren, coming off a 310 yard passing performance, and Micah Ford adding 99 yards on the ground, the Cardinals’ offense seems to be clicking early.
A new QB has found a home in Miami and that QB would be Heisman candidate, Darian Mensah. Mensah, with a highly talented offense surrounding him, has every piece to become a superstar in the 2026 season. Returning RB, Mark Fletcher, and WR, Malachi Toney, look to improve upon their breakout 2025 campaigns as well. A revamped DL and secondary make the Hurricanes defense a force this year as well.
🚨Prediction🚨
It’s hard to imagine an upset in Week 1 where the Cardinals take down the Hurricanes. But can they keep it competitive?
With the force of the Miami offense and Miami defense, I see it as a little too overpowering for this Cardinals team. Mensah, looking to get started on a good note, can beat defenses with his arm or legs and with the talent on both sides of the ball I see this game getting ugly. For that reason…..

Colorado @ Georgia Tech Preview
What Stands Out….
Starting with the Yellow Jackets, a complete renovation took place on the offensive side of the ball during the offseason. Starting QB, Alberto Mendoza, will try to follow Haynes King’s footsteps and lead GT to another successful season. In the backfield losing Jamal Haynes is another huge loss for the Jackets, however, another Haynes, Justice Haynes, a transfer from Michigan enters as one on the higher ranked RB in the transfer portal this year. Do I expect there to be a drop off in the offensive production? It’s hard to say no to that, but Brent Key has relied heavily on the run game in past years, and with a true RB in Justice Haynes, I do look for that to be a strength of this offense.
For Colorado, after serving as the backup last season, Julian Lewis has earned the starting spot at QB for the Buffs this season. Brennan Marion joined the staff as the new OC over the offseason and with his offensive scheme, and the weapons Colorado has at WR this season, I look for Lewis to have a break out season for Colorado.
🚨Prediction🚨
With the losses GT experienced on both sides of the ball especially at QB and the secondary on defense, I do expect this team to take some time to gel together. I also think with Colorado wanting to air the ball out this season in Marion’s first year as OC, I can see GTs secondary getting tested early and often on Thursday. If Colorado takes the lead late in the game, I find it tough for a run powered offense to claw their way back into the game which leads me to say….
