Alot of young people preparing for ministry are reading secular books more than they read the Bible and theological books
Books on how to grow a church, Administration e.t.c
Are they bad? Definitely not
But it is why we have alot of wise business men and less Bible teachers..
To err alone is equally sad, but to lead a generation in error after you even sincerely is unfortunate. Preparations in scripture!!! Preparations in scripture!!!
God be gracious to us all.
In my opinion, by age 25 much of a person’s doctrinal positions are already formed, and though he knows or not, this lens is what he will use to define God all through his life.
It takes grace from God to remain open to progressive light.
To all who will preach the gospel in the next generation, our greatest responsibility is to give ourselves to scripture more than anything.
Men have opinions, God has a standard, and He does in all things and in all subjects, our assignment is to search them out and teach same.
https://t.co/whPMvkphU4 Elders council appointed you the doctrinal watch man of the body of Christ. You are a Christian blog. Your opinion is always welcome and yes, many times you will be right. But this sheer arrogance and quick-finger approach to calling out Pastors in the name of accountability is conceited and biased.
Now let’s analyze your points
https://t.co/xuNWXQkphH said: “Pastor Shola, sir, there is no single verse in the New Testament that says prosperity is God’s will for us.”
If this is so, then there are only two other logical and theological options:
⁃Poverty is the will of God (if you believe Prosperity is not Gods will, is poverty?)
⁃God has no will at all regarding our socio-economic well being.
NOTE:
⁃ I hope you know that the fact that the Bible teaches that we should be content in every situation doesn’t mean every situation is Gods will. You clearly conflated both by saying:
“The Macedonian church was poor. The Smyrna church was poor. Paul was so poor most of the time. “
This did not in any way mean that their condition was God’s will.
It’s just like saying:
Epaproditus was sick
Timothy was sick (or had a stomach condition)
Therefore sickness is the will of God. Or divine healing isn’t Gods will. That’s poor theology and logic.
https://t.co/yvfga6V5zC jumped into conclusion in your response, not taking to cognizance the clear context of the video. The video was addressed to those who believe that GOD MAKES THEM POOR to teach them a lesson.
So what is a rebuttal exactly? That everyone who is poor is poor because God actively made it so? That means that all their sincere attempts to make a living has proven abortive because God actively restrained and frustrated them unbeknownst to them?
Note- this is different from saying that God providentially allowed them to be born into poor Countries or families. Even that doesn’t mean God wills that such a person stays poor.
4.If you categorically say Prosperity is not the will of God, why do you have a tweet saying;
If you want money, ask God
If you want shelter, ask God ?
Are you not aware that we should only pray or ask according to Gods will? and the only thing that guarantees answers is that we ask according to his will?
https://t.co/fRZnBqbdyv you not see that what the video was attempting to address was another extreme ( lovers of poverty- people who willingly embrace poverty as a virtue of consecration, not as a condition that life dealt them) is also an extreme?
Perhaps, you quickly assumed it was another Pastor making poor people feel they are doing something spiritually wrong and responded.
6.There are a lot of times your content is awesome. But you are unintentionally encouraging a dangerous and I dare say unscriptural example. This culture of holding everyone accountable without a clear cut accountability system in your life is wrong. It is high time we knew who you are accountable to. What Church do you attend? Who are you submitted to?
So I recently learnt that if you start your media uploads with “Hey Guys” you’re a content creator…
Therefore in the name of the Father, Son and The HolyGhost, Hey Guys!!!😅 How was church?
One day we will come talk about how riffs and runs is not second class to chants in song ministrations.
It is all the wave of different eras and dispensations.
Oh you think your chant has more power in the realm of the spirit than Kim Burrell’s runs
Okay 😅
You mean there are people in the Choir now who didn’t get to express the joy of scoring a Deitrrick Haddon, Lawrence Flowers or J.Moss song
Ah! You started with Lawrence Oyor.
Eiyah, it is well sha😂
