Break and Enter in St. George; Police Seeking Video Footage.
St. George, ON – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Brant County Detachment, is investigating a break and enter that occurred during the early morning hours of February 26, 2026, at the Esso Gas Station located at 19 Beverly Street West.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in obtaining security or dash camera footage from the surrounding area between 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.
Brant County OPP are specifically looking for video that may have captured a dark grey, newer‑model Honda Ridgeline pickup truck. The vehicle is described as:
4‑door model
Equipped with black rims
Fitted with a black soft tonneau cover
The vehicle was last observed travelling eastbound on Beverly Street toward Main Street.
The investigation is ongoing.

There have been two incidents of Emergency Call Fraud, also known as "swatting", in Haldimand County during the past two days.

Members of the Haldimand Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a residence on Haldimand Road 53 near Jarvis on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at approximately 8:10 p.m. to a report of a bomb threat.

At approximately 1:35 p.m., on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Haldimand OPP responded to a similar report at a local school, causing the school to go into lockdown. In both incidents, 9-1-1 calls were made to report emergencies, which required police and other emergency resources to attend.

In each of these cases, after police and other emergency resources attended, it was determined that the information provided by the caller was false and no actual emergency existed. Emergency Call Fraud has serious consequences. Once a false emergency call is placed to 9-1-1, resources that respond to a false emergency situation are no longer available to respond to an actual emergency.

Placing a false call to report an emergency is a criminal offence under the Criminal Code of Canada.
Anyone with information regarding these ongoing investigations is asked to contact the Haldimand OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
