I actually found a big exploit on Lazer once that allowed submitting scores on other rulesets than actually played, including customs.
I have emailed peppy with the bug after further testing and never got even a warning for breaking the game.

Don't share exploits online, simple

@Kxlyys0 @hubbywubbs most of these are offline tho, and if you would try to use exploits in a online game, especially if it would affect others or you woudl purpesfully share how to also exploit, you would be banned (like here)

I will just say that osu! isn't exactly built the best way with protection in mind, so this could be a big gap in the games security.

And even then, the discovery of that isn't why they got banned anyway, so it doesn't matter in the end as long as its a exploit (it is one)

@SuperMega_T @Kxlyys0 Well using thinking skills, when a map doesn't have submittable scores and you submit a score by purposeful bugging the client you are gaining leaderboard advantage.
Even going past that, manipulating the game this way might allow to do way more than submit a score on a loved map

@lystia244 Simple discovery =/= posting how to exploit in the game in a way thats effects are unknown.

You don't get banned for discovering exploits in osu, and I am speaking from experience. You just need to be smart about it.

@PaiYokes Well, rule #7 says to use common sense, and it should be common sense to not publically Tell how to exploit in the game.
Truth is, if they would never post about they wouldn't get banned, they just decided to be stupid and post it online without a fix online.

The exploit has long been fixed so I can talk about it to some extent.

I found the bug on main osu servers and later did additional testing on the Dev server. The accidentally cheated scores also got removed with no issues.
