@CumberlandWx I agree that would be the ideal way to benefit the people. I'm not sure what type of radar it is they have in Camden. The privately owned FURUNO WR2120 X-Band system in Lawrenceburg is extremely price effective with excellent optimization and 24/7 runtime capability.

@CumberlandWx Even worse is the data is probably available to the NWS and they aren't aware or using it. Meaning the data has been purchased but isn't being used. I have no proof of this but it seems logical.

@CumberlandWx Sustaining maintenance and the costs of continuous operation of those radars is also extremely expensive. 1 or 2 small x band systems would do a lot of good in many places around the US. Many companies and cities have these already and refuse to share the data.

one of the coolest tornadoes I've seen in my entire career watching weather just happened 10 minutes ago going up Greene & Viking Mountain ridge on the border of Tennessee and North Carolina

this tornado formed literally going up the mountainside, then dropped 1000 ft!

@BluekandyWX I've been trying to learn why it happens in that exact place multiple times previously. Not every instance has resulted in a tornado, but there is a distinct pattern here in the Camp Creek area. I was chasing this storm yesterday, but fell short of a condensed tornado per roads.
