an absolutely great superhero game that doesn’t deserve its hate, it gave us:
>a dual spiderman experience
>best swinging and traversal in gaming
>fun as fuck combat with great bosses
>an exciting story full of HUGE set pieces, it did have issues but it was never boring
>we played as venom, as VENOM…
- a rushed third act and a few issues doesn’t dismiss how GREAT this game was.
I'm nearing the end of kingdom hearts and there's a moment that Sora has a confrontation with a character who has totally lost his way in his belief. It's classic trope stuff but he says something really poignant about HEART. It made me realize that kingdom hearts is the antidote to pessimism.
This world is messed up. Regardless of time, era, politics etc. we live in a flawed world. Kingdom hearts presents an opportunity to shine a light through darkness itself with hope, optimism, and possibility. With heart. With spirit.
You can't play kingdom hearts and not be open to its message. Because It is so pure and so honest. It will either crack you open to its message or you won't get far enough to allow it to.
Beautiful.
KH fans might kill me but I think the best starting point depends on your interest level.
If you’re already committed to experiencing KH, go release order.
If you’re just getting your feet wet & not sure, try whatever game looks interesting to you & see! It’s not that serious
To the people confused why Destiny died:
The Edge of Fate expansion was very lackluster gameplay wise and introduced weapon/armor tiers alongside Portal.
This effectively killed 95% of activities and loot in the game because only Portal & Kepler dropped them. Cont.
I think kingdom hearts is actually really easy to understand nowadays because almost all of the games are accessible and they repeat the lore bits over and over
I think people have just repeated that it’s so hard to understand for so long that it’s the main assumption going in
I got into Kingdom Hearts around 2018 when I was about 16 or so and the Smash 5 hype train was in full swing with people talking about Sora for Smash.
I said “You know what? I just got this PS4 so I may as well see what all the hype is about.”
Changed my life and never once thought it was corny. It also made me a JRPG fan alongside Persona 5. I’m proof you didnt have to grow up with it in the 00s like you claim in order to enjoy it
Ive found this very un true over the years. Ive seen countless adults shot gun through the HD collections that became super fans by the end of it. Kingdom Hearts is a family friendly series that any newcomer can come to love if they give it an honest chance
This is inherently untrue in so many ways, and an example of that is myself. I began playing Kingdom Hearts when I was 17 (2 years ago) and ever since then I was able to experience the entirety of what Kingdom Hearts had to offer. You’re never too late to play Kingdom Hearts.
