@StageIVTesla @FPWellman For example, I grew up outside of an Army base. Vehicles that entered regularly were issued color coded stickers to indicate their status. Civilian employees received Green and Officers Blue. The Green turned Blue when exposed to enough sunlight. The guards saluted just in case.

Officers and enlisted alike are required to salute when it is clear or possible that a person should be saluted.
