#BetheChange Water is a foundational building block for health and economic prosperity. Without access to safe water, families, women and girls are locked into a continuous cycle of poverty. We believe e that clean, safe water is a basic human right.

We are developing sustainable, long-duration water (and power) infrastructure that will deliver 1.7 billion glasses of clean water to rough 1 million people, including 240,000 children in Mozambique 🇲🇿.

#BetheChange Through our partner, Operation Water, we’ve signed a 30-year concession agreement, ensuring that we can finance our ~20 site project with low-risk, long-term finacing. This is the first water concession agreement signed by the MZ government ever.

#BetheChange Our big audacious goal is to end the global water crisis in the next 30 years by leveraging our financial, technical, and operational expertise to build long-duration, critical water infrastructure. And we’re starting in Mozambique 🇲🇿.

According to the UN, young women and children walk an average of 6 kilometres (3.7 miles) every day, just to collect water, which is equivalent to 200 million hours each day. This creates a cycle of poverty, seeing as time is wasted on the most basic needs.

#BetheChange Inspired by Ghandi, “Be the Change” speaks to the change agent and doer in all of us. Terra Firma, with our partner Operation Water, is helping build critical water infrastructure for the world’s most disadvantaged poor.

Sub-Saharan Africa has the largest number of water-stressed countries of any region.

And we are currently working hard to bring critical, sustainable water infrastructure online in Mozambique.
