@SenatorLujan@TerrieBarrie@POTUS According to the author of The Plutonium Files: America's Secret Medical Experiments in the Cold War, all Baby Boomers have several atoms of plutonium in their bones. Eileen Welsome was told this by some retired scientists who knew about the R&D and effects of radiation.
"There's no safe level of radiation." Yet the Los Alamos National Laboratory is allowed to ignore recommendations by safety officials, and continue endangering their workers. 🤔

Excellent coverage on the urgent need to #ExpandRECA. Thank you @OnPointRadio and @MeghnaWBUR for helping to raise this awareness of the need to strengthen the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act
Today, the House joined the Senate in passing a limited extension of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act. Now they must pass an expansion bill to include those who continue to be excluded from benefit coverage. Tell your reps to cosponsor S.2798 & H.R.5338!
This right here: "Many Americans are still falling sick and dying due to radiation exposure. The United States should not walk away from its commitment to compensate these people."
Appreciate the leadership from @RepTeresaLF and @RepBurgessOwens on extending RECA!
“legislation, which would renew the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (#RECA) by two years to provide cash payments to those exposed while working in or living near nuclear operations” https://t.co/DIUK4Ba4Z1 #NewMexico#TularosaBasin#cancer#health#waste#security#policy
An extension of the Radiation Exposure and Compensation Act means that more people harmed by radiation exposure now have two additional years to apply for compensation. This is a win! Now we need the House to extend it as well!

Occupational disease deaths are severely undercounted. Many occupational disease deaths are caused by exposure to hazardous substances many years ago, or from COVID-19 acquired at work.
So the 4,764 "official" workplace deaths barely scratch the surface of the true toll.
For those who still think that nuclear facilities do not need to be prepared to defend against unmanned aerial vehicles, an important lesson.

Nuclear testing + uranium mining has harmed the environment and communities across the country. Many of those most affected still don’t qualify for financial compensation, and we have less than 3 months to extend and #ExpandRECA, the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act.
Join us for this very important one-day seminar on Rocky Flats. A great lineup of speakers, sponsored by Physicians for Social Responsibility. This is free and open to the public, but you can also earn CME credits. https://t.co/yS7uffx5XM
There are still over 500 abandoned uranium mines on Navajo land that have caused the Navajo community health problems. We must demand Congress expand the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act to ensure they get the support they deserve.

It builds on my @seattletimes story about what this moment means for nuclear-armed subs based in Washington state, and why one warhead in particular is highly relevant right now: https://t.co/bij1l4NXxE
