If they say they’re trying to return to doctrine, then why are women preaching to men in the gathering of the body of believers?

This was April of this year at Ed Young Jr.’s church in Grapevine, Texas.

Faith Forward Pastors’ Summit. The Faith Forward theme focuses on strengthening the Church by returning to primary doctrine, fostering biblical discipleship, and reigniting evangelism to impact our communities and nation. This summit is about equipping leaders to stand firm on foundational Christian truths and proclaim the gospel boldly, while working together to eradicate wokeism from the American pulpits.

Krissy Miles is married to Lucas Miles of TPUSA Faith, and she calls herself a pastor. And then you have Jack Graham, who is part of the SBC, and he knows the convention is trying to get an amendment passed that says only men can hold the office of pastor.

The mixed signals this sends are double-mindedness

I think if you don’t like someone, unfollow them, but making it a habit to report people just so they’ll get their account disrupted, suspended, or shadow banned is high school antics.

Which is it, y’all? Is a conference theological or is it political, depending on the situation? You can’t redefine what a conference is or change the terms when it’s held by a church, under the authority of the pastor, and ignore that women are speaking about scripture to the gathered body. The church doesn’t wear different hats in that regard.

I think this territory here with these women speaking at TPUSA events is much like how Beth Moore got where she is. To address an assembled body in a church, no matter what you call it, it is still women addressing men. And TPUSA has platformed a lot of false Bible teachers. This was Free Chapel in Gainesville in March. John Bevere’s wife preaches, and Lance Wallnau is part of NAR.

Preaching at a church service and speaking at a conference at a church like the ‘Make Heaven Crowded’ event are the same thing because both involve addressing the assembled body of believers. Splitting hairs over titles does not change the core act of proclaiming a message to the gathered church

One divine statement answers the question, “What does the Bible say about women preachers?” It’s in verse 35, the last part of the verse: “It is improper for a woman to speak in church.” That’s not ambiguous; that’s not at all unclear. “It is improper for a woman to speak in church.” That is an absolute prohibition.

And the word “improper” is chosen very, very carefully by the Holy Spirit to leave no lack of clarity as to the force of the statement. The word that is translated “improper” is aischros in the Greek. It really is a word that means “disgraceful” or “shameful.” It’s something more than just improper; it’s disgraceful. — John MacArthur

Out of curiosity, if you’re part of an SBC church, didn’t they just hammer this out at the convention in June? When Beth Moore started out just teaching Bible studies, she ended up in pulpits, and the more that happened, the more other women were speaking to the gathered bodies. If a church gathers on a Saturday, it’s still church. The day doesn’t change what you call the congregating of people at a church unless it’s a potluck dinner.

Another thing that occurred to me was the Bill Hybels, Rick Warren conferences back in the mid-1990s. This may be a tad off-subject, but relatable too. Hybels held a lot of conferences for churches back in the day, even conservative churches like the Presbyterian and some SBC churches would go to his conferences because they wanted to do church like he did. They wanted his programs and a template for how he did things. This impacted churches in a negative way, IMO. I witnessed this personally seeing a church grow because they began to open up the service with loud rock music and more of a watered-down message of the Bible. All that to say, is that churches should be about what the scripture teaches.

John MacArthur and R.C. Sproul had great conferences together to further the gospel message and had Q&A’s for people to ask questions they could ask during a Sunday service. But it was always them and some other pastors answering the questions or talking about political issues related to abortion and same-sex marriage.

They gathered at an SBC Church for a conference. So when the church opens its doors for an event that is called Make Heaven Crowded, or a Pastors Summit, or Faith Forward, which is TPUSA, the members of that church are there in attendance. Scripture is being taught and just because it’s TPUSA doesn’t change the fact that they are teaching to a mixed audience with the blessing of a pastor.

They went to Ed Young Jr.s church this year and Jentezen Franklin’s church. If the pastor is part of the program in his church, how does this change the meaning of a gathered church to a conference? If the individuals are addressing the church to be political, to rally people to get involved, this is preaching/teaching the church and encouraging them to be involved with political Christianity. Women are telling men to rise up, to get their members involved with the pastor in attendance. If they are held because they say it is a passion for the church to be politically involved, then I’m not sure they can split hairs over it.
