Finds for the week in SE IA: Sudden Death surges following toxin moving rains, S Rust hasn’t let up, Top Dieback is the first stalk rot to emerge of what may be many, and milk lines are pushing along quickly with heat/nutrient stresses. Cool weather is coming - have a great week
Finds for the week in SE IA: It was a recharge week with the family - Sunday fields looked like more Southern Rust and Tar Spot continue to develop as well as excess rain. Have a great week!
Finds for the week in SE IA: drawn out pollination, Northern Corn Rootworm damage on rotated corn, early dent thanks to our prolonged heat wave, and some fields with awesome looking potential! Have a great week 🙂
Finds for the week in SE IA: Southern Rust is making a charge as well as Tar Spot (which will likely get cranking later this week with cooler temps), nitrogen deficiency showing up in heavy rain areas, and a beautiful finish to another week🙂 Stay hydrated & have a great week!
Finds for last week in SE IA: Pollen rot tucked under leaf sheaths, some pollination misses from the high heat, Bacterial Leaf Streak, and Western Rootworm Beetles doing what they do. Have a great week and stay hydrated!
Finds for last week in SE IA: Physoderma Brown Spot, a few pollination ‘misses’ during our recent high heat, tightly wrapped tassels mid week, and finally Preceon (short corn) doing it’s job protecting against high winds Friday night. Have a great week!!
Finds for last week in SE IA: Gray Leaf Spot is the corn disease front runner, silks are growing (watch for clippers), spider mites stunting beans where rainfall has been average but coarse soils dried out, and a beautiful evening cloud display after some very welcome rain!

Finds for last week in Southeast IA: Sulfur deficiency continues to emerge, Potash deficiency stunting corn, Wireworm damage in stalled out areas, & some hard charging DKC68-35 (N MO). Have a great week!
Finds for the week in SE IA: curling corn from hot/dry last Monday, residue effects on sb growth, healthy bacteria fixing N on V2 sb, corn tillers aplenty pointing towards happy/productive corn plants. Have a great week!
Finds for the week in SE IA: a very welcome rain, NH3 burn, ground squirrels growing corn completely underground, and FINALLY - growing conditions to promote rapid growth! Have a great week
Finds for the week in Southeast IA: combines are rolling hard, new farm average highs are coming in (rain helps apparently), and all the extras from; drainage, to fungicide, to proper fertility to genetics matched to practice/environment are showing good returns - stay safe!
Finds for the week in Southeast IA: bronze looking Cercospora, the ‘porcupine’ stage of SDS after leaves drop, Top Dieback and Anthracnose in corn as plants are stressed filling ears, and bees working hard. Have a great week!
Finds for the week in Southeast IA: SDS progressing, small areas of Rootworm feeding exposed by wind, Septoria Brown Spot, and a beautiful lady that was duped into marriage 26 years ago (we’ve been together for 31 and yes, she’s very patient - I married way up!!)
