@NathanJonesBook When writing? No. It ends up as long or short as it needs to be at the moment. When editing? Some. Not a huge amount. I try to keep my novels in the 60-70k range. Not too long, not too short. I tend to be wordy, so my beta readers tell me where to cut. That's a HUGE help.
So... I'm on the edge of my seat, #WritingCommunity. My debut #novel , Song of Appalachia, is in the hands of a publisher who is deciding if they want to #publisherstory They asked for 30 days and I'm going crazy waiting. It's only been 2 weeks! #help
@CSmallsWright I wonder-when you write, do you unintentionally weave your culture into your stories, plus your sexual orientation, gender, race, ethnicity, personal history, etc? Can't MCs, regardless of whether they're BIPOC or not, just experience joy and go an adventures? Why did u ask?
I've been away for some time but now I'm back and I need help from the #WritingCommunity
I'm thinking about #writing a book based on my life tentatively called Unsolicited Advice from a Cranky Old Lady.
Also, my book will include swearing, controversial opinions, some scientific data crap to give it the veneer of legitimacy, and anecdotes involving weird stuff like acid trips and religion.
