Itโs hard to say. Iโve been asking myself the same question.. I was hoping Tesla would dip a little so I can accumulate more when the SpaceX IPO starts.
Iโll be looking to enter SpaceX two weeks to two months after the IPO. IPOs historically run up the first few days before cooling off.
@OutofSpecDetail@mrfundman I donโt have any rattles in the plaid? But I certainly do in the three.. the rear seat, squeaks, and the front suspension rattles..
When you get used to the plaid itโs hard to enjoy the 3.. feels cheap.
@Bob_Bingi45@M46726805@mrfundman You can jailbreak Tesla and replace the inverter boards to tune the motor. It would be great if they allowed opensource software, but itโs unlikely due to the fast charging and people modifying the system to exceed its safe power capacity
Congrats on 52 years with your Beetle! Its elegant simplicity is exactly why itโs still going strong after all these decades, unlike most modern cars that have become overly complex.
Teslas follow a similar philosophy, theyโre remarkably simple with far fewer parts. There are already countless Teslas that have surpassed 500k miles, with some even hitting over a million. While no battery will likely last that long, the rest of the vehicle absolutely can. Battery costs continue to drop rapidly, and you can already get refurbished packs for $6โ9k. It is estimated that in five years the cost per kilowatt hour would be under $3500.
The motors and inverters are dramatically more reliable than any internal combustion engine. Similar electric motors have been running 24/7 in industrial applications for decades with virtually zero maintenance or issues.
@AbsolutNirvana@mrfundman You know nothing Jon Snow, I love to drive but itโs great to have a car that can drive itself when you need to send a text or book a hotel while on the road.. I have a manual CTS-V sitting in my driveway when I get the occasional urge to bang through the gears..
A manual transmission is slower and less efficient than an automatic transmission. Your wheel horsepower is much less than what the engine outputs because of the transmission. Driving a Tesla is like being in first gear all the time, but it never ends.. talk about feeling connected to the road, I feel like Iโm driving on rails with perfect weight balance and a low center gravity. Going back to a legacy vehicle feel sloppy, antiquated and lame.
@AutismSyrup@mrfundman No not really.. I have seven cars but when I take a road trip, I choose the Tesla because itโs less of a hassle when you have FSD and only spend on average 10-12 minutes at a charging stop..
