"Ruben Amorim has departed his role as Head Coach of Manchester United.

"Ruben was appointed in November 2024 and led the team to a UEFA Europa League Final in Bilbao in May.

"With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club’s leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change. This will give the team the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish.

"The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution to the club and wishes him well for the future.

Darren Fletcher will take charge of the team against Burnley on Wednesday."

"Obviously I've played as a winger mainly at Brentford, but I don't have one specific position where I feel I can do the best. With Brentford, I used to also play as a No 10 in the pocket or even as a No 9. I can play all those positions. Whatever position the gaffer wants to put me out, I will play there.

It’s an absolute privilege to receive the Anti-Corruption Champions Award from @SecBlinken earlier today at the State Department. For being the youngest to have ever received this award makes it a harder challenge to continue the struggle but at the same time encouraging youths around the world to know that age is not a requirement to what you can do and achieve.
