CDC guidelines cont:“This increases the potential for infectious disease spread.
Connecting people experiencing homelessness to permanent stable housing should continue to be the primary goal.”
See @Stop_Sweeps_SEA call to action to protect community during this heat wave! 2/2
Direct CDC guidelines:“If individual housing options are not available, allow people who are living unsheltered or in encampments to remain where they are. Clearing encampments can cause people to disperse throughout the community and break connections with service providers.”1/2
CALL TO ACTION! 📣
The city is planning to sweep four different encampments during the heatwave this week, including a massive vehicle encampment on Tuesday with 50+ vehicles and 50-75 people living there. Tuesday is forecast to be over 90°.
It’s the first week of July which means you should be ordering your free monthly tests!
