Our Senior Software Development & Delivery Manager, David Hollows has provided an introduction into #Agile & #Scrum - how it works & why it has fundamentally changed working practices with plenty of references throughout for worthwhile reading material ➡️ https://t.co/sNpGbEe3jN
I'm pleased to write the foreword for the second edition of @jamesshore's "Art of Agile Development". It's a solid guide to learning how to get past faux-agile and develop the skills you need to get the value from agile working.

If you can’t trust the people you’ve hired to work remotely, especially during a crisis,
you either:
A: hired the wrong people
or
B: you have trust/control issues.
Most likely it’s B.

@lunivore I think we'll see a lot more online conferences and use of tools now that so many live events are at risk of cancellation. #DigitalTransformation will accelerate in many areas
Cargo Cult Agile - when the form is agile with roles renamed to PO / SM & sprints brought in for dev, but the old waterfall processes remain. A really interesting concept - I've seen this sort of implementation several time but not had a name for it. Wagile maybe ...
@ministryoftest "Doesn't matter if testing can't be done before sprint end, we can deploy toggled off so we've still met the sprint goals!" Alas I have heard this said in all seriousness in several different organisations ... #quality#DevOps
@KristinJackvony I think it's due to the sunken costs fallacy - by the time a (selenium) framework is running enough tests for flakiness to be an issue, the team is committed to using the tool & is often getting asked to provide ROI stats :-(
@BugHunterSam Yes. Automated tests need to be treated the same as code - reviewed and stored under version control, especially so in regulated environments
@allenholub a very good question! if the thing being estimated is a massive organisational program, at best it will a high-level order of magnitude estimate that's wildly inaccurate - but all forecasts and budgets will cite it forevermore
