They have been talking and Trump said it didn't seem likely a deal was coming. Something changed he said.

Whatever structures are making money in their place should be dismantled or diminished so they can.
If no money is to be made, then why should wealth be poured on researchers just to buy honesty, and would that even work?

@EricDJuly Not much is actually vertically integratable in the US.
In electronics manufacturing, there's simply nothing happening at scale for secondary components or interface connectors or cables, etc.
We might get TSMC building the big things, but there's a lot more involved.

He could have said we're going to 50% tariffs on everything over the next 5 years at 10% a year or 1% a month.

I'm pretty sad about it, but thankfully this is America so it probably won't happen.
