I tried it the hard way, and it worked..

This is my first ever motion graphics as a video Editor even though it almost got me running for my life at some point.

Normally Motion Graphics are better done with After Effects, Even though some really good Editors can pull of a crazy one with Premiere Pro and you'll give your stare a seat😅

Well, I pulled this with Premiere Pro too😊 

Took me quite a time which I won't disclose😅 but here's the fact, I feel so happy about the result and I don't really care how long I sat, repeating and starting all over. I only Care that I finally fixed it.

And this isn't just any design I made, It's about my BRAND; KONVERSATIONs

So what's KONVERSATIONs? It's a Creative Brand with a Vision of Igniting a Global Movement that Communicates Positivity, Mental Wellness and Hope through Poetry, Art and Creativity.. 

And since this year, I haven't done much regarding it due to the change of environment and some other setbacks.. But here's the good news. 

KONVERSATIONs IS BACK.

RESOLUTION EXPLAINED

If you’re a photographer, videographer, or editor, you’ll hear the word RESOLUTION constantly.
It basically defines the quality of any image or video.

Think of a Rubik’s cube with scrambled colors. You can’t tell what picture it’s supposed to make until all the squares line up.
Once arranged, the image becomes clear and sharp.

Pixels work the same way. They’re tiny colored blocks that build one frame of a photo or video. Just like a Rubik’s cube has 3 squares across and 3 down, every image has a specific number of pixels in its width and height.
The total number of the pixel makes up the resolution

So what's Resolution?
Resolution is the number of pixels that exist in a photo or video i.e. the product of the width and height.

Common Resolutions:
- SD (Standard Definition): 720 × 480 = 345,600
Meaning there are 345,600 pixels in an SD photo or Video

- HD (High Definition): 1280 × 720 ≈ 921,600 pixels

- Full HD / 1080p: 1920 × 1080 ≈ 2 million pixels

- 2K: 2560 × 1440 ≈ 3.7 million pixels

- Ultra HD / 4K: 3840 × 2160 ≈ 8.3 million pixels

- 5K: 5120 × 2880 ≈ 14.7 million pixels

- 8K: 7680 × 4320 ≈ 33 million pixels

Why it matters:
The more pixels, the more detail.
That’s why technology keeps pushing higher resolutions every now and then

Example:
Zoom into an HD photo and it gets blurry fast.
Zoom into a 4K photo and it stays sharp much longer.
Higher resolution gives you room to crop, zoom, or display on large screens without losing quality.

Bottom line: Resolution impacts how crisp your visuals look and how flexible you can maneuver them.
The Resolution you use for your picture or video is dependent on where you'll be sharing it, i.e. Social media, YouTube, cinema, etc.

"From beach to bustling city in one seamless cut"

that is my win today.

I grabbed two flat footage:
people strolling on a sunny beach, and a vibrant city street.
Then I used the mask tool to cut right on a man walking on the beach. Making him the bridge between calm and chaos.

Sounds easy right? until you try masking out an entire footage😅
Took me quite a time being my first time, but I felt really relieved after I finally nailed it like a Pro😁

The transition felt intentional, Like it was telling a story, not just switching clips.

Then I played with the background using a color matte.
Did a quick color correction so the tones matched, and used position keyframes to make the text animate.

The best part? I can see the progress.
Text and captions that used to feel clunky now feels easy.
It’s proof that small daily reps actually add up.

Growth in creative work isn’t loud.
It’s just you, the timeline, and that moment when you realize, “okay, I’m getting better at this.”

The progress compounds faster than it feels.

Becoming a video editor ruined movies for me🤦

I used to watch films to relax until Premiere Pro got involved.

Yesterday I sat down for "Wrath of Man" and "My Dearest Assassin". Interesting movies by the way.

Two minutes in, my brain flipped the switch; Editor mode activated😅

Instead of following the plot, I was dissecting everything:
- Nice cross dissolve there.
- That orange and teal grade is heavy. What LUT did they use?
- Why did they cut on the 3rd frame? That feels early.
- Is that Lens Distortion or Spherize?

By the time the credits rolled, I could break down the color grade, pacing, and transitions…
but I’d almost missed why the movie was actually good.

Nobody tells you this is a side effect of being a video editor.
You don’t just watch anymore, You analyze.

The upside? Every movie becomes a free masterclass.
The downside? Your “normal viewer” brain rarely shows up anymore 😂
