Today is the start of our annual Drowning Prevention Week campaign.
Will you help share our new animation about the Water Safety Code which aims to give you and your family the knowledge to stay safe in and around water?

To be honest I’ve nothing left in me to write the usual heartbreaking pleas. This tragedy is a mere 10 mins up the road form us. As ever, schools and community groups can get in touch if they want a workshop for their students.
We need to educate young people about the dangers of swimming in open water without necessary precautions.
Please speak to your children, relatives & friends to prevent these tragedies happening.
Our thoughts go out to this family. 🔵🔱

Heartbroken by their son's tragic drowning, Jabulani and Nombulelo Ndlovu have created a powerful water safety video. 'Thando's Story' aims to educate kids about the dangers of open water.
Let's spread awareness and prevent more tragedies. 🙏

Sharron Davies has done fantastic work in the past, but the water safety community shouldn’t look to platform anybody who spreads division and hate. #TransWomenAreWomen
Frustrating to hear stories of adults (not children!) on the ice at Sefton Park. We will be on BBC Radio Merseyside after 5ish to discuss this more.
After this weeks tragic news, how could you be so stupid?
4 years ago today we all made a commitment to raise awareness of water safety and prevent water fatalities in your name. It’s definitely been some challenge but we have done just that. Thanks to everyone who has supported us on the way.
Miss you mate. X
Fight your instinct to jump in and help. Stay on land and make the right call:
CALL 999 and ask for fire & rescue inland or coastguard at the coast
TELL them to float on their back
THROW them something that floats

Not the hottest of days today but next week is meant to be boiling. ☀️
Timely reminder to stay out of those rivers and lakes. You’re not indestructible and drowning can happen to anyone - we know this more than anyone.
