Grassroots Non-Profit Social Enterprise bringing live music and education to Croydon and South London. #OpenSource music. In hibernation pending another project

[The Free Music Project @TFMP_Croydon]

If you are a musician or band in South London stuck without playing opportunities, you may have considered live streaming.

It's quite a challenge in equipment, space, and internet connection.

We want to help. Get in touch!

Is it too late for a #ThrowbackThursday?

This was magic.

[ed @edplaysjazz]

One of the most moving experiences of my life - a room full of mostly non-verbal adults with Alzheimer's and Dementia fill the room with the sound of their voices.

We're going to pay musicians to do this full time.

This is the sound of neurogenesis👇👇

Hi from another small arts organisation trying to keep musicians alive!

We're based in Croydon and mostly focus on #jazz.

Do say hello!

[The Free Music Project @TFMP_Croydon]

This!

If we want cultural art forms to survive, their practitioners need to be able to survive.

We're only small, but we want to pay musicians to perform in their communities, and facilitate anyone inspired to learn.

If that sounds like a good idea - https://t.co/KuZOrgtvjv

After a break in our sessions, we will be live again tomorrow for a second test of our live-streaming capabilities, with a laid-back session featuring our house quintet - fronted by Ed Cubitt and award-winning vocalist Karolina Micor.

Wouldn't it be lovely!

We're trying to #KeepJazzAlive with regular, free, live-streamed performances from our studio in Thornton Heath and a £ subscription platform on Patreon.

Even just a bit of support or recognition from the mainstream would help us out so so much.

Audiences also need to try ‘reversing every assumption’ & support (ie pay for) digital concerts – often as good as a live event, better seats & no transport issues. Media could also support small initiatives as well as big hitters?
